President Trump is known for his ability to keep people guessing about his intentions. It’s how he’s managed to be so successful in his life. But he also has the ability to keep people occupied on one thing while he’s doing something else behind the scenes.
He revealed that again today during a question-and-answer session with reporters in the Oval Office after signing legislation funding ICE and CBP.
Asked what his intentions were regarding Iran after the Islamic republic’s forces downed a U.S. Army Apache helicopter over the weekend, Trump was direct – More military strikes against Iranian targets:
We hit them hard yesterday and we’re going to hit them again hard today… And we’ll see what happens with the deal. We were really close to a deal — but they keep tapping us along. They keep playing us for suckers because you know what? They dealt with some very stupid Presidents.
But then the president revealed this little nugget: The U.S. has been sneaking tankers full of oil out of the Strait right under Iran’s nose:
Did you know we’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesn’t know about it? Iran — until right now. We took out, the other night, 22 ships.
“They don’t have any radar,” the president said, “because we blasted the crap out of it.”
He also said were it not for the U.S. getting that oil out, prices at the gas pump will be higher than they are.
“Millions of dollars of barrels have come out, and that’s why it’s at $85-$90 a barrel instead of $250,” he said.
