Talarico Gladly Took Money From Jeffrey Epstein’s Friend

Texas Democrat Senate nominee James Talarico loves accusing Republicans of Epstein-style corruption, but his biggest super PAC backer is LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, who visited Epstein's private island and gave the convicted pedophile a statue.

Texas Democrat Senate nominee James Talarico has built his entire campaign around one word: Epstein. He’s used it to hammer Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton at every turn, even dragging actual Epstein survivors into his campaign events as props. So it’s a little awkward that the man pumping $11.5 million into his campaign visited Jeffrey Epstein’s private island and gave the convicted pedophile a statue as a gift. They weren’t just business associates, they were friends.

That man is Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn and one of the Democratic Party’s biggest megadonors. Hoffman is the top backer of “Lone Star Rising,” the super PAC propping up Talarico’s Senate bid against Paxton. The PAC had raised nearly $22 million as of July, with Hoffman’s $11.5 million leading the way.

And it gets better. After Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a minor and registered as a sex offender, Hoffman kept right on associating with him. In 2014, Hoffman flew to Epstein’s private Caribbean island and brought him a statue. That same year, Hoffman offered to help Epstein manage his public image and fight off sex trafficking allegations. Documents released by the Department of Justice suggest the relationship went beyond what Hoffman has publicly admitted.

It’s just sick how these Democrats have no problem associating with people THIS REPULSIVE, even after they’ve been convicted. Shows you who these people really are, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, Talarico’s main Epstein attack on Paxton centers on a plea deal offered by state prosecutors to a pedophile named Adam Hoffman, after a 2025 trial ended in a hung jury and the victim declined to testify again. Talarico has accused Paxton of giving “Epstein-style sweetheart deals to pedophiles.” There’s just one problem with that framing. Adam Hoffman’s own attorney, Gerry Morris, told The Daily Signal that Paxton had “nothing directly” to do with the settlement. Morris, who says he is “not a fan” of Paxton and does not support him, wrote that he is being “unfairly blamed for the Hoffman resolution” and that it’s “unlikely he was even aware of it until it came up in the press.”

So the attack is based on a plea deal that Paxton’s team didn’t negotiate, while the attacker’s campaign is bankrolled by a guy who literally visited Epstein Island and brought a present. If irony were a campaign finance violation, Talarico would owe a lot of money.

Oh, and one more thing. Talarico’s stated platform includes a pledge to “ban super PACs and corporate PACs.” His campaign says it “has no control over contributions to any super PAC,” which is the standard legal disclaimer. But Talarico has never disavowed Hoffman’s money, never returned it, and never said a word against the man whose Epstein connections are now a matter of public record. The Daily Signal reached out to Talarico, Paxton, and Hoffman. None of them responded in time for publication.

The Senate race between Talarico and Paxton is shaping up to be one of the nastiest in the country this cycle, and Talarico has made corruption his signature issue. With $11.5 million from an Epstein associate flooding his super PAC, voters in Texas will get to decide just how seriously to take that message.

I know one thing, that guy wouldn’t be allowed near my family.
