Remember the heady days of the Obama regime? The reversal of all the progress we as a nation had made in terms of race relations. The endless scandals. The weaponization of the Justice Dept. and the IRS against conservatives. And the ‘nuclear deal’ with Iran.
The latter line item was supposedly one of Barack Hussein Obama’s greatest foreign policy acheivements. After months of negotiations and a couple pallets of cash delivered to Iranian reps on a remote airport tarmac, the deal was done.
Except the deal was never ‘done.’ The ink no sooner dried on the JCPOA then Iran began cheating.
Enter President Trump. During 1.0, he pretty much said the same thing every American leader for the past 40 years has said and left it at that: ‘Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.’ Trump 1.0, at least, did cancel the Obama ‘deal’ because Trump already knew it was bogus and wasn’t being followed by the Iranians. Enter Trump 2.0.
Earlier this year, after weeks of warnings and preparations, Trump did what he said he would do: He launched strikes to finish off Iran’s nuclear program. Now, after a couple more months of negotiations and a shaky cease-fire, Trump has managed what Obama never could – a dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program and a pledge to never pursue one again:
Barack Hussein Obama’s Deal with Iran, the JCPOA, was an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon, which Iran would have had six years ago, and would have used long before now. My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON! In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement. The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.
Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had. Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in green, cold cash, no money will exchange hands. At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States. We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!
Granted, the president has been harping about a “peace deal with Iran” being imminent for some time now. But he’s never talked about a signing of the deal within a day.
But – where will the deal be signed? On Friday, Trump mentioned Switzerland. Who will be doing the signing, him or another member of his government – perhaps Secretary of State Marco Rubio? Who from Iran will be signing?
Still, Trump has made it farther with ending Iran’s terrorism against the U.S. and its neighbors than Barack Hussein Obama ever did. Somewhere, Obama has to be quietly seething.
