Nationally, the Democrat Party continues to hemorrhage support. The party’s congressional approval rating is, well, let’s just say used car salespeople and moderate cases of the flu are more popular. And things only appear to be getting worse, if you can believe that. Republicans in Congress have their issues with voters, too, but they are nowhere near the bad shape Democrats are in.
That’s especially true in North Carolina, where Democrats have doubled down on crazy and tripled down on punishing any party member who doesn’t toe every single line. In short, it’s costing them political capital and members.
North Carolina House Representative Carla Cunningham (D-Mecklenburg), who represents House District 106, changed her party registration from Democrat to unaffiliated last Friday. This decision followed months of feeling abandoned by Democratic Party leaders in the state, including Governor Josh Stein, and culminated in a bitter primary battle that she lost in early March.
The seven-term representative was targeted for what some deemed an offense for voting her conscience last July on a veto override of a bill aimed at improving cooperation and coordination between state sheriffs and federal immigration enforcement agencies. At that time, Republicans were just one vote short of a veto-proof supermajority, and Cunningham’s vote made the House override official.
Two other House Democrats who occasionally broke from party lines were also targeted and defeated in the March primary. One of these was District 99 Representative Nasif Majeed (D-Mecklenburg), who participated in another veto override in July, this time for a bill known as HB 105:
It comes in mens and womens and lets your friends know you're happy to express your views and don't care what anyone thinks! Cheers!

Override #5 Is Done.
The NC House has just overridden HB 805. The highlights of HB 805 include:

? No taxpayer funded gender transitions

In explaining his vote with Republicans to override the veto, Majeed said afterward: “I had some moral issues about that, and I had to lean on my values.” Majeed was also one of 18 NC House Democrats who voted in favor of Iryna’s Law.
Comparable to Cunningham, Majeed didn’t always align perfectly with his party, but he generally did. However, his support for HB 805 drew criticism, and he was opposed by the so-called party of tolerance. As a result, he lost to newcomer and lefty Veleria Levy in the March primary.
Speculation had been rampant following the primary regarding whether Cunningham, Majeed, and the other Democratic candidate who lost, District 23 Representative Shelly Willingham, would align more closely with Republicans during their final year in office, change parties, or possibly do both. On Monday, Majeed officially joined Cunningham as a registered unaffiliated voter and legislator, announcing his departure from the Democratic Party.
Majeed was more diplomatic in his statement than Cunningham, but he made some waves on his way out of the party nevertheless:
“Our community deserves leadership that is honest, accountable, and respectful of the democratic process,” Majeed wrote. “I have witnessed and experienced actions within the political landscape that I believe could be perceived as misleading or inconsistent with the spirit of fair elections. I cannot, in good conscience, remain aligned where those concerns are not adequately addressed.”
Though he didn’t elaborate, he did cite “growing concerns about political practices that, in his view, do not align with the level of transparency and ethical conduct that voters deserve.” Further, he also suggested that “certain campaign-related strategies and tactics observed in recent election cycles raised serious questions.”

It’s clear to any rational adult at this point that the Democrat Party has lost its soul, or, more correctly, sold its soul to communism and socialism. It’s a party of hate, jealousy, class warfare, and political division. Democrats have zero interest in doing what is best for the country and its people, and instead are laser focused on amassing power to impose what would really be an authoritarian agenda: Punishing success, draining every last drop of wealth from private hands, and forcing all of us to live in a political and social hellscape.
Cuba on steroids, in other words.
