Here we go again.

We have another example of a left-wing ‘judge’ imposing her policy preferences over the will of the people and the security of the nation.

A federal judge appointed by President Autopen has blocked the Trump administration’s efforts to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals, siding with activist groups and career bureaucrats instead of allowing elected leadership to enforce the law and secure the border. What should have been a straightforward exercise of executive authority — ending a program that has outlived any legitimate humanitarian justification — is now tied up in judicial orders that essentially say: foreign nationals come first, American citizens second.

This is how Biden-appointed Judge Ana Reyes opened her ruling overturning the Trump admin ending TPS for Haitians.

Judge Ana Reyes delivered a decision laden with political implications, stating that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is “substantially likely” to have ended the TPS status for Haitian migrants “because of hostility to nonwhite immigrants.”

What. The. Hell.

Reyes began her opinion by grandstanding about how George Washington’s idea that “America is open to receive not only the Opulent & respected Stranger, but the oppressed & persecuted of all Nations & Religions,” claiming that was somehow codified after Congress created the TPS designation:

Reyes cherry-picked numerous migrants affiliated with the case with varied professions and education to “prove” that the Trump administration wasn’t targeting “killers, leeches, or entitlement junkies,” stating that “Haitian immigrants are overwhelmingly law-abiding, with incarceration rates lower than those of native-born Americans.”

Reyes believes that she finds no harm in maintaining Haiti’s TPS status until a resolution can be found. Reyes also argued that Noem had neither facts or the law on her side, so instead Noem posts to social media. Reyes even embedded an X post from Noem in her decision.

Reyes isn’t the only judge to block the Trump administration’s TPS changes. In December, Biden-appointed Judge Angel Kelley blocked DHS from stripping South Sudan of its protected status.

This decision is beyond reckless — it’s symptomatic of leftists in the federal court system who are trying to institutionalize open-borders ideology. TPS was conceived as temporary relief for truly extraordinary circumstances. Haiti’s situation, while tragic, does not justify perpetual sanctuary status for tens of thousands of people who crossed the border illegally or overstayed their visas. At some point, common sense and the rule of law have to matter.

Instead, this judge has effectively told the administration: you can’t end a status that encourages more illegal immigration, strains public services, and creates incentives for more unauthorized arrivals — not so long as a handful of lawyers can file a motion.

The American people didn’t ask for this. They didn’t elect their president to watch foreign nationals stay indefinitely on U.S. soil without clear legal status or accountability. They didn’t vote for open-ended relief programs that let people remain here for decades while average citizens struggle with inflation, crime, and housing costs.

And let’s be honest: this isn’t compassion. It’s cheap politics dressed up as empathy. True compassion would mean helping vulnerable people in their own region, investing in stability and opportunity — not inviting wave after wave of migration that the American people reject at the ballot box.

Fortunately, Homeland Security isn’t taking this outrage lying down.

“This is naked, lawless activism that we will take to a higher court and be vindicated on,” DHS said in a statement to Fox News. “Haiti’s TPS was granted following an earthquake that took place over 15 years ago, it was never intended to be a de facto amnesty program, yet that’s how previous administrations have used it for decades. Temporary means temporary and the final word will not be from an activist judge legislating from the bench.”

Spot on. Meanwhile, about impeaching these activist judges…
