A nationally recognized pollster, known for its accuracy, has reinforced President Donald Trump’s strong support among voters, challenging the Democratic narrative that Americans are being turned off by his deportation and cost-cutting agenda.
Recent poll results show that respondents have given high marks to Trump and his key priorities, expressing approval of the significant changes occurring since the Biden-Harris administration. Quantus Insights, ranked as the most accurate pollster of the 2024 cycle, surveyed 1,000 registered voters in late February and concluded that the Republican’s support base remains strong.
From DOGE to deportations, Trump’s overall job performance is approved by 51%, while 45% disapprove. Efforts to reduce illegal immigration, a key focus of Trump’s 2024 campaign promises, continue to receive strong approval. A notable 58% of respondents approve of the work being done by White House border czar Tom Homan, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement to arrest and deport illegal immigrants involved in violent gangs or convicted of crimes.
The issue has garnered bipartisan support, highlighted by the passage of the Laken Riley Act last month, which lowered the threshold for criminal charges before an illegal immigrant could be detained and deported. In the U.S. House, 46 Democrats voted in favor of the new law, while 12 did so in the U.S. Senate. Regarding the economy, Trump continues to maintain strong support, with 49% of voters believing he is guiding the country toward a better financial future. The newly formed U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, alongside close advisor Elon Musk, has been making headlines nearly every day as they work to reduce waste and inefficiency in the federal budget.
Trump has leveraged their success to generate further news, including floating the idea of “DOGE dividend” checks for Americans and proposing an audit of the country’s 9 million-pound bullion depository at Fort Knox. Compared to his predecessor, the president is leaving voters satisfied with their choice to support him last November. Fifty percent of voters believe the country is moving in a better direction than it was under the Biden-Harris administration. And if Trump were to face former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2028, last year’s results would look much the same: 52% of poll respondents still prefer him compared to 46% for Harris.
The results from Quantus align with those of other pollsters, including Harvard University, which earlier this year showed overwhelming support for President Trump. A Cygnal poll revealed that support among black men for the Republican has more than doubled since the election. In contrast, approval of the Democratic Party has dropped to an all-time low of 36%, leaving potential 2028 challengers to try and rebuild. One of these figures is Gavin Newsom, the progressive governor of California, who recently announced plans to launch his own podcast featuring candid conversations with MAGA guests.
