UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, performed president-elect Trump’s signature “YMCA” dance after defending his title at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. Jones faced UFC legend Stipe Miocic in their first bout in nearly two years. Dominating both standing and on the ground, Jones landed a spinning back-kick that struck Miocic’s ribs, effectively ending the fight.
Once the fight was called, Jones celebrated with the “YMCA” dance, pointing toward Trump, who was seated Octagon-side alongside X owner Elon Musk. In his post-fight interview, Jones expressed gratitude to President-elect Trump for attending the fight. Trump played a pivotal role in the UFC’s early success and has remained a regular presence at UFC pay-per-views in recent years. His involvement continued after he made history in 2019 as the first sitting president to attend a UFC event.

“Hey, what do you guys think about my version of the Donald Trump? Check it out,” the heavyweight champion continued before leading the crowd in a “USA” chant. “I’m proud to be a great American champion. I’m proud to be a Christian American champion,” Jones added. After his interview concluded, Jones approached President-elect Trump again. They chatted for nearly a minute as Jones presented Trump with his championship belt.
Trump had previously told Joe Rogan that he intended to attend the UFC’s marquee event at Madison Square Garden if he won re-election. True to his word, the president-elect arrived with a large entourage of political allies and campaign figures just before the main card began. Trump was accompanied by his children, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Dan Bongino, Vivek Ramaswamy, UFC President Dana White, and X owner Elon Musk, who sat next to the president-elect.
The president-elect received an overwhelmingly positive response from the crowd, with UFC commentators Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier remarking that it was one of the loudest reactions they had ever heard at a UFC event.
