Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich declared on Thursday that Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is the one running mate option that could potentially derail Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign.

Gingrich was interviewed on “The Ingraham Angle” to discuss Harris securing enough delegates to become the Democratic Party’s frontrunner for the presumptive presidential nominee following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek re-election. During his conversation with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Gingrich discussed potential running mates for Harris and criticized the consideration of Shapiro for the role.
“Well look, they have a big problem. I think, by the way, this is why, in the end, Harris will not be able to pick Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania,” Gingrich said. “I think to walk into that convention with a Jewish governor as her vice presidential candidate would cause such a level of tension in places like Michigan that it would just be a wild scene. Sort of resemble Union Station. They have a real problem.”
“The problem is more and more of their party’s anti-Semitic, more and more of their party sides with terrorism. More and more of their party is deeply hostile, not just to Israel, they are deeply hostile to the United States,” Gingrich said.
During Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress on Wednesday, nearly half of the Democratic members chose not to attend his speech. One of them, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who is of Palestinian descent, made her presence felt during the speech by holding a sign that said “War Criminal.”
“And I think this is an underlying split in their party, which will be interesting to see how they try to write a platform compared to what the Republicans achieved in Milwaukee,” Gingrich continued. “Because how do they bring their radical left wing and what’s left of the old pro-Israel wing? How do they get something on that into the platform? I think they’ll have a very hard time.”

SiriusXM podcaster Megyn Kelly dropped some truth bombs about Harris, noting during a Wednesday show segment that there are going to be certain things the mainstream media will chastise Republicans and other Harris critics for if they say them about the VP.
“Kamala Harris is now on track to become the next Democratic nominee for president. And they do just like this! It’s so fun when you have a magic wand and your name is Nancy Pelosi. You can make people the presidential candidate. It’s awesome. The voters are so annoying,” Kelly began.
“It’s, like, amazing to me that we’ve all just moved on from the fact that they’ve just seized the Democratic nomination. They’ve given it to Kamala Harris. Not a single voter has voted for this woman to be the presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket. And they’re all like, ‘Okay, I guess we’re not allowed to challenge the black lady.’ That’s how it works. That’s it,” she went on.
“Even though if you look at the polls, this is not the best person to take on Trump. But if you’re a Trump fan, you’re thrilled I guess. It’s like short of Biden, sure, they’ll take Kamala. But if you’re an actual Democrat who wants to win, is this the horse you want to bet on? But they’re all scored along with it, because they need unity, because the Republican Party’s unified. This is some sort of bullsh*t. But okay, you know what, it’s your problem. I’m not voting Democrat. So you work it out on your side. It’s gonna be fun to watch,” she said.
“Kamala Harris is a bully who’s pushed out or made life intolerable for virtually every person who has come to work for her in the White House. She’s the Meghan Markle of the administration. People can’t work for her. She’s a nightmare,” Kelly continued. “It’s obviously going to become relevant how she treats people. She’s not a ‘wine mom.’ She’s just like the nasty mom who doesn’t get invited to the events because no one wants to be around her because she’s got a bad demeanor behind the scenes.”
