Fox News is already suffering blow-back from the dismissal of top host Tucker Carlson, but now a leaked Fox News handbook that accommodates woke ideologies may spell even bigger disasters for the network. The Daily Signal acquired a copy of a Fox News handbook and deep dived into the content only to find out that the network who seemingly wants to attract Conservative views is allegedly pushing ‘nonsense’ behind the scenes.
The leaked Fox News handbook acquired by Daily Signal was dated January 2021, so it’s just over two years old and a new version may have different content. The leaked handbook reviewed by Daily Signal suggests employees can use any bathroom they align with based on gender – not reality or biology. The leaked handbook suggests that employees must refer to each other by the preferred name or pronouns, again – not based on reality or biology.
The Daily Signal says the leaked Fox News handbook will help employees who change genders come up with a “Workplace Transition Plan” so they can transition better at work.
Why were people looking for a handbook or other information about Fox News? This is perhaps because Fox News’ website using popular activist terms like “gender affirming care” and caters to preferred pronouns instead of using correct pronouns.
Staff from The Daily Signal spoke with Fox News employees, both current and former (anonymously) about what’s going on at the company. As reported:
“They want you to think it’s this place that supports traditionally conservative values,” a former producer for “Tucker Carlson Tonight” told The Daily Signal. “But in reality, they’re pushing this nonsense behind the scenes.”
Carlson’s show was canceled April 24, days after he delivered a viral speech at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala. Fox News Media has not given a reason, simply stating that the two parties “agreed to part ways.”
A source who still works at Fox News told The Daily Signal that after Carlson’s show was canceled in April, producers for the new 8 p.m. “Fox News Tonight” program were told not to bash Mulvaney. That directive came from high-level executives, the source said.
It didn’t stop there. The handbook contains information that many people may feel uncomfortable with. For example, there’s a category dedicated to ‘Gender Transition’ which is a woke concept that most people aligned with Conservative politics do not accept or agree with. It may cause conservatives to feel uncomfortable knowing that Fox News appeals to conservatives on the surface, but behind the scenes they might be going against the moral fabric of the majority of their audience.
The Daily Signal report continued to point things out:
Under the category “Gender Transition,” Fox’s employee handbook promises that the company is dedicated to “expanding and strengthening” efforts to “sustain a more inclusive work environment.” The Fox employee handbook is posted on Workday, where employees can see company guidelines or policies, a former employee told The Daily Signal.
“Employees who are transitioning their gender have the right to be open about their transition if they so choose, and to work in an environment free of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, and without fear of consequences or transphobia for living openly,” the policy says.
Citing the Human Rights Campaign, one of the most prominent LGBTQ organization in the country, the Fox handbook defines a slew of LGBTQ terms, including cisgender, gender expression, gender-fluid, gender identity, gender non-conforming, gender transition, LGBTQ, non-binary, and transgender.
This may seem odd because a lot of content published or produced on or by Fox News appears to combat, mock, or ridicule the very things they are accepting of at the office. It seems like there may be a conflict of interest in what’s happening on the screen or website vs what’s really going on at the workplace – and that’s something that viewers may not sit well with.
On the contrary, Fox News policies are also likely a result of legal requirements in places like New York City and California where a big number of employees work. Fox News might be required to have such things in their handbook, but many fans believe the network should make a statement saying they are required by law to have these in place, but that does not mean they support or accept them.
