Trump Drops Mega-Million Dollar October Surprise On Democrats

Text size

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that his political operation will spend more than $400 million supporting Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections, unveiling the massive commitment with just two weeks remaining before voters decide control of Congress.

Trump said more than $300 million has already been deployed on advertising, voter outreach, rallies, get-out-the-vote operations and election-related programs, with additional spending expected before Election Day on November 3. “I have spent, or will be spending, over 400 Million Dollars by Election Day,” Trump announced Tuesday in a Truth Social post detailing the effort.

The president said the money reflects his support for the Republican Party and its agenda as GOP candidates fight to maintain control of both the House and Senate. Trump said the spending includes advertising, direct and indirect voter contact, rallies, rally arenas, telephone rallies, get-out-the-vote programs and what he described as “Election Integrity” efforts.

“It is my Great Honor to do so on behalf of the Republican Party,” Trump wrote, describing the November contests as the “Most Important Midterm Elections in our Country’s History.” The money is being deployed through Trump’s political operation, including the MAGA Inc. super PAC and aligned organizations rather than simply representing a $400 million personal contribution from Trump himself.

Reuters reported that MAGA Inc. and the affiliated No Going Back PAC have already spent at least $226 million during the election cycle, according to campaign filings. The Washington Post reported that filings from MAGA Inc. and related super PACs show more than $244 million spent on campaign communications including advertisements, direct mail, text messages and phone calls.

MAGA Inc. entered the final stretch of the election with an enormous financial reserve after reporting nearly $416 million in cash at the end of August, giving Trump’s political network substantial resources to intervene in competitive races.

Trump had previously signaled that much of that money would be spent before the midterms, saying in September that roughly $400 million to $500 million could ultimately be directed toward helping Republican candidates.

Democrats, meanwhile, have had a cash deficit this entire election cycle, even resorting to putting their DC headquarters building up as collateral for a $15 million loan.

The spending push comes as Republicans defend their congressional majorities across a wide battlefield containing competitive Senate races in Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, Maine, Michigan and Alaska along with dozens of closely watched House contests.

Trump has simultaneously intensified his personal campaign schedule, traveling Monday to Kansas to rally for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall before heading to Greenville, North Carolina, Tuesday as part of his closing midterm push.

The strategy reflects Trump’s effort to recreate presidential-election turnout among Republican voters during a midterm year when he is not personally on the ballot.

Trump and his advisers have repeatedly emphasized turnout among less-frequent Republican voters who participated in the 2024 presidential election, making voter-contact and get-out-the-vote programs a major component of the political operation.

The Republican financial effort extends well beyond Trump’s own network, with several GOP-aligned super PACs ranking among the biggest spenders of the 2026 election cycle.
