Dan Scavino Just Put the White House Leaker on Blast

Dan Scavino — White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of the Presidential Personnel Office — dropped a post on X Wednesday morning that had Washington buzzing before the coffee was finished brewing. He didn’t name names. He didn’t have to.

The post, in Scavino’s characteristically unvarnished style, was addressed directly to whoever fits the description:

“When you get fired for doing a spectacularly shitty job at an agency, with your badge deactivated, building access revoked, and the full ‘you’re dead to us’ package — or when you get passed over for Ambassadorships, Boards, or Commissions — because there are candidates who are actually far more qualified than you, please resist the urge to sprint to every media outlet that will platform your lying bull shit, and then falsely attack the people in the Presidential Personnel Office who are out here serving President Trump, the Administration, and the American people each and every day — Just take the L, and move on, LOSER.”

“Thank you for your attention to this matter.” The presidential sign-off on a professional execution.

When you get fired for doing a spectacularly shitty job at an agency, with your badge deactivated, building access revoked, and the full “you’re dead to us” package—or when you get passed over for Ambassadorships, Boards, or Commissions—because there are candidates who are…

— Dan Scavino (@Scavino47) August 20, 2026

Kash Patel’s reaction was two words: “Boss Move, Dan’s a legend.” The anonymous account 0HOUR1 filed the formal report: “I would like to report a murder.”

That last one is accurate. Scavino didn’t just put the leaker on notice. He described their situation so precisely — badge deactivated, building access revoked, “you’re dead to us” package — that whoever it is now knows with certainty that Scavino’s team knows exactly who they are and exactly what they’ve been doing.

The most common guess circulating on X pointed toward Joe Kent, the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center who resigned in March 2026 in an explosive letter blaming Israel for the Iran war. Trump’s own public response to that resignation was notably unsentimental: “It’s a good thing that he’s out.”

Kent fits parts of the description. But Scavino included an “or” — which may mean more than one person is in the crosshairs. Someone who lost their position. Someone who wanted an ambassadorship or board appointment and didn’t get it. Possibly the same person. Possibly two different aggrieved former officials now feeding media narratives about the Presidential Personnel Office.

The broader context matters. The Trump administration has been dealing with a sustained leak problem — from the Turkey security operation story to the false Kash Patel firing report to the fabricated Camp David confrontation between Trump and Hegseth. Some of those leaks clearly came from inside people with access. Scavino’s post is a signal that the hunt for the sources isn’t limited to formal investigations. The inner circle knows who’s talking.

The named person — whoever they are — will either respond publicly, confirming themselves as the target, or stay quiet, which confirms it differently.

Either way, Scavino landed the shot. The recipient felt it. Washington is watching to see what comes next.
