The ghost of former special counsel Jack Smith keeps wandering through the Justice Dept., reminding every good staffer and U.S. attorney what a crap show the Biden regime was and how the DOJ nearly lost its soul.
Smith’s name came up again on Tuesday, this time from the mouth of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. Smith, you remember, tried in vain to put Donald Trump in prison. One case blew up when the judge said he was improperly appointed, and the other died after Trump won another term.
Anyway, during an interview on Sean Hannity’s podcast, “Hang Out with Sean Hannity,” Blanche noted that his department found a room packed with documents in “burn bags” that had yet to be destroyed.
Seems that trove of Jack Smith-related documents was likely put where they were put on purpose so they’d be found:
“We found a room like that at DOJ, a few months ago,” Blanche said. “It’s not fair to say it was a secret room, but it’s a room that had a lot of material in it.”
Blanche added that the documents were found in “burn bags,” which are typically used to destroy sensitive documents for security purposes. He said while it’s not uncommon to use these types of bags to get rid of sensitive information, where it was left led him to believe an “honorable” agent may have been trying to preserve it.
“It’s not the existence of a burn bag that I think is interesting or problematic depending on which side you’re on,” Blanche said.
“This one was in a place where I get the point that an honorable FBI agent might have left it there because it was not where it would normally be to be destroyed,” he added. “[We] kind of stumbled on it, but it looked almost intentional.”
This new revelation comes on the heels of an earlier one made by former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino in April about the same trove of documents:
And this is why I say to people that, be careful painting the entire bureau with an overly broad brush. There were a ton of bad actors, more than I expected, and you were correct about that.
But there were a lot of people in there, under extreme pressure, who, you get where I’m going with this? Who were probably like, “This isn’t right?”
…They saved it on purpose.
And it was the mother lode.

So in the end, it turns out that some FBI agent or DOJ employee was more loyal to his or her oath of office than to Jack Smith or the band of poop bags who tried to jail Trump.
Imagine if Trump hadn’t won…
