Just The Tip! DOJ Finds 400+ Non-Citizens Voted in Key State, Says There’s Much More

Nothing like a good ol’ fashioned story about Democrats cheating elections, doing that one thing Democrats say never happens.

And even better, since this is just the beginning of their research, we can finally use “just the tip” in a news story without getting in trouble!

Federal prosecutors in Washington state dropped a bombshell Monday: investigators have found more than 400 non-citizens registered to vote who actually cast ballots, and not just once. Many of them voted in multiple elections, racking up roughly 1,500 ballots over the years.

And here’s the kicker. Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington Neil Floyd called it the tip of the iceberg. We have identified over 400 non-citizens who are registered to vote and have voted in multiple elections. This is only the tip of the iceberg,” Floyd said in a news release. “We will continue to investigate and identify those who are committing crimes by voting illegally.”

You can read more about non-citizen voter fraud investigation and what federal prosecutors are saying about the scope of the problem. Floyd said state restrictions on voter roll access forced investigators to build cases one by one, which means the actual number of illegal voters is likely in the thousands.

Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, apparently not a fan of finding out bad news, has previously insisted that documented non-citizen voting in his state is rare, citing just 15 cases between 1982 and 2025. Fifteen. In over four decades. That’s quite a figure to stand behind when federal prosecutors are standing at a podium announcing 400 names before lunch. Prosecutors asked Hobbs to sequester any vote-by-mail ballots from the identified individuals until their citizenship can be confirmed, and they noted that Washington state has refused to share voter rolls with investigators, which is a strange thing to do if you’re confident everything is fine.

Some of the non-citizens told investigators they had no idea they were breaking the law. “People are telling us, ‘I got a ballot in the mail, I thought I was eligible to vote,'” Floyd said. Many registered through Washington’s Motor Voter program, received ballots automatically, and figured the government wouldn’t have sent them one if they weren’t allowed to use it. That’s actually a pretty reasonable assumption when the system hands you a ballot with no questions asked. Prosecutors noted that false claims of citizenship on registration forms or naturalization applications can carry felony penalties of up to five years in prison.

Meanwhile, down in Florida, Homeland Security Investigations arrested five lawful permanent residents last week on charges of voting by an alien. The five, from Canada, Cuba, and Brazil, allegedly registered or voted in the 2022 and 2024 elections. Some have prior criminal records involving battery, domestic violence, or drug trafficking. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin didn’t mince words, saying every non-citizen vote “steals the vote of a hard-working American citizen.

The Washington investigation is still ongoing, with prosecutors saying more names could be coming before Election Day. The Trump administration has been pursuing similar cases across multiple states. So the next time a Democrat tells you voter fraud is a myth cooked up by paranoid conservatives, remind them that federal prosecutors just found 400 examples of it in one state alone, and they haven’t even finished looking.
