Texas Democrat Blows THOUSANDS of Campaign Cash on Cookies And Food

Democrat congressional candidate in Texas dropped hundreds on sugar cookies and nearly $1,300 on beer and wine, all charged to the campaign.

A Democrat running for Congress in Texas has been spending campaign money on cookies, beer, wine, and restaurant tabs, and the numbers are hard to miss. Federal campaign disbursements from March and April 2026 show the candidate dropped $675 on “cookies for event,” $1,289.22 across two payments for “beer and wine,” and $2,373.92 across two payments at Las Guitarras Cocina Mexicana, a restaurant in Boerne, Texas.

That is a lot of guacamole for a candidate asking voters to trust them with taxpayer money. The campaign defended the spending by saying the “huge food and beverage expenditures were for campaign and fundraising events which were attended by our supporters.” So basically, Democrats throwing a party and calling it work. Classic.

On the cookie front, the candidate went full Texas ambassador mode. Sugar cookies, particularly Texas-shaped ones, hold a special place in Texan culture,” the candidate told Fox News. “We bought ours at a local bakery because we believe in supporting small businesses.” Nothing says grassroots populism like $675 worth of frosted cookies and a bar tab that rivals a bachelor party.

You really have to admire the audacity. Democrats spend years lecturing everyone about inequality and corporate greed, then turn around and drop over four grand on snacks and margaritas during a single campaign stretch. At least be consistent, folks.

The candidate is trying to unseat Republican Brandon Herrera, gun YouTuber turned serious political force, who Texas congressional race 2026 earned the Republican nomination after former Rep. Tony Gonzales resigned in disgrace, at the same time, amusingly enough, as Democrat Eric Swalwell. Herrera built a massive following as an internet celebrity before jumping into politics, and he is now the man standing between this cookie-and-beer campaign and a seat in Congress.

Early voting in Texas kicks off Monday, and Election Day is just 17 days out. Herrera has the name recognition, the online army, and presumably a campaign budget that was not spent entirely on desserts and draft beer.

If the Democrat loses, at least the supporters ate well. Nothing brings people together like Texas-shaped sugar cookies and a couple of rounds of beer, all paid for by the campaign fund. That is one way to do politics, even if voters might prefer a candidate who treats their donation money a little more carefully than a Friday night out.

Just remember folks, if she’s wasting this much money on food now, then imagine what happens when she’s on a taxpayer-funded salary. You think your problems will be fixed? Nope, but you might be on the hook paying for her diabeetus treatments.
