ICE Shoots Trinitarios Gang-Linked Illegal Alien in Bronx, NYC Mayor Loses His Mind

ICE officers shot a criminal illegal alien in the Bronx on October 8 during a targeted enforcement operation, and the suspect is alive and being treated at a local hospital. The Department of Homeland Security says the man is a Dominican Republic national with a prior conviction for grand larceny, multiple prior arrests for assault, robbery, drug possession, and weapons possession, and ties to the Trinitarios gang.

DHS noted that the Trinitarios are the same gang that brutally shot a CBP officer last year. The suspect had actually been arrested by the NYPD on December 7, 2023, but was released back into the community a few days later. Shocking, we know.

DHS didn’t mince words about why their officers ended up in that situation in the first place. When dangerous illegal aliens are released back onto the streets by radical sanctuary politicians, our officers are forced to make arrests at large in the community in unpredictable and dangerous environments,” the agency said. During the incident, an ICE officer discharged his weapon, officers immediately rendered aid to the suspect, and the FBI and HSI responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation, according to DHS. You can follow the ICE Bronx shooting as more details emerge.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, never one to let facts slow him down, called the shooting “unconscionable” and said he called President Donald Trump to demand an end to all ICE enforcement in New York City. “I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities,” Mamdani said, apparently referring to an operation targeting a gang-linked career criminal as “terrorism.” He capped it off with a tidy little list: “Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children. Abolish ICE.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James also weighed in, saying she is “keeping the victim and their family” in her prayers and calling for a full investigation and accountability. Neither James nor Mamdani mentioned prayers for the communities where a gang-linked illegal alien with a weapons rap sheet was living freely thanks to sanctuary policies.

The investigation is ongoing and DHS says more information will be shared as it becomes available. Meanwhile, Mayor Mamdani is presumably still waiting for President Trump to return that call and agree to let New York City remain a consequence-free playground for criminal illegal aliens. Don’t hold your breath, Zohran. Tell us what you think in the comments below or share this on social media.
