President Trump is calling for immediate action on two key issues: funding our military and passing the voter ID measure known as the SAVE America Act. He is urging Senate Republicans to utilize reconciliation to bypass Democrat filibusters and approve a $350 billion bill, referred to as Recon 3.0, that would address both of these goals.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, he is demanding passage “IMMEDIATELY”:
No other President has ever been more committed to both REBUILDING our Great Military and SAVING our Great Country — And NOW is the time to make it happen, for Generations to come.
I am hereby calling on Republicans in Congress to IMMEDIATELY advance and pass the forthcoming $350 Billion Reconciliation Bill (Recon 3.0) — which, at the request of our Great Department of War — will include THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well. No games, no delays, and no weak compromises! Do this ASAP.
This is a GENERATIONAL Investment in our Military, even bigger than President Reagan’s! Recon 3.0 is the ONLY path to the full $1.5 TRILLION DOLLAR Military Budget our Warriors need in order to build THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM.
With the major investment of new funding, Trump said we will make the already dominant American military even more so:

But, will Trump get a win for the country? Not so fast, say the usual RINO suspects:
His comments come a day after Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Senate Appropriations Defense Subcommittee Chair Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) cast doubt on a third reconciliation package.
Collins said a third bill was a “terrible risk” and is likely to create funding “instability” for defense efforts.
Some lawmakers have raised concerns about the legislation that requires proof of citizenship to vote, requires a photo ID, and largely bans mail-in ballots except for cases of illness, disability, military service or travel.
“The SAVE America Act didn’t even get 50 votes last week on the floor of the Senate,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said.
Well, the original version of the SAVE Act did get 50 votes, Leader Thune. Collins switched her vote to support it when Sen. Mike Lee offered it up during a vote-a-rama on ICE and CBP funding.
Naturally, Republicans could also nuke the arcane filibuster rule, knowing that Democrats will likely do so if they ever win back the Senate. But we know how that’s gone so far, too.
Maybe in January, when a few more RINO senators are finally put out to pasture.
