USA Journal previously reported on the FBI’s search at the Portsmouth office of Louise Lucas (D), the Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore. Lucas is a prominent state lawmaker representing District 18 and has been in office since 1992. She is also the key figure behind the gerrymandered map that favors Democrats with a 10-1 ratio over Republicans. This map is currently on hold and is under review by the state Supreme Court.
In addition to the search of the Portsmouth office, a cannabis store next door that she co-owns was also investigated, along with other locations, as part of a corruption probe. Following the news, Lucas’ Democratic supporters in Virginia attempted to portray her, without evidence, as a victim of political persecution.
“While we await the full facts of the investigation, it must be acknowledged that this FBI raid occurs in the broader context of President Trump’s repeated abuse of the Department of Justice to target his perceived political opponents,” Democrat Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) proclaimed in a statement.
Virginia House Speaker Don Scott (D) remarked that, “Given the politicization of this administration — an FBI led by Kash Patel and a Justice Department run by President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney — I think people should take this with a grain of salt and allow the facts to come out before jumping to conclusions.”
Yeah, about that. This isn’t “Trump’s partisan Justice Department,” come to find out (not that we ever thought it was). You see, the probe into Lucas actually began during…the Biden administration:
It comes in mens and womens and lets your friends know you're happy to express your views and don't care what anyone thinks! Cheers!

Two people familiar with the case said the search was related to an investigation opened during the Biden administration that has continued, examining possible corruption and bribery related to marijuana dispensary businesses.

Oops. More broadly, though, it’s another day, another member of the Domestic Terrorist Party under suspected of being a criminal. Color me shocked.
