This situation is absurd. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), who opted not to run for re-election after losing support from the GOP base due to his RINO (Republican in Name Only) behavior, is not going to leave quietly. We anticipated this outcome. He had the potential to be a senator for life from North Carolina, but his efforts to undermine Pete Hegseth’s nomination for Secretary of War and to block Ed Martin from becoming the permanent D.C. Attorney, among other actions, contributed to his departure.
Now, with the firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi, two questions arise, given the GOP’s slim majority in the Senate: Who will Trump choose to replace Bondi, and will Tillis create problems for us? It seems likely that he will, especially if the new appointee does not view January 6 as the darkest day in American history since 9/11 or the Civil War.

When you’re leaving, don’t create a scene. There’s a reason no one wanted you to run again: you lacked the support. Acting recklessly is as inappropriate as holding lame duck sessions to push through parts of an agenda that the electorate does not support after the election.
Frankly, Tillis should just go now. I get that North Carolina, inexplicably, has a Democrat for a governor who would replace Tillis with a Democrat, but what’s the difference? He’s not acting like a Republican anyway. And there’s no guarantee whoever Gov. Roy Cooper picks can win the general election in November in the GOP-leaning state.
It’s just pathetic that some Republicans hate Trump more than they love their own country, party and constituents. Politics isn’t for lightweights; it’s a blood sport, practically, and you need big boy and big girl panties to play the game. Put your juvenile emotions aside and do what is right for the country. This president won by what is considered a landslide in the modern era, so it was quite clear that the majority of Americans wanted what he had to offer, not some backstabbing, backbench ‘Republican’ from down south.
