Attorney General Pam Bondi has reportedly been dismissed. Two sources informed Fox News Digital that Trump had already let Bondi go on Wednesday before he delivered his speech regarding Iran. That is interesting timing considering Bondi accompanied the president to the Supreme Court earlier in the day to hear the oral arguments regarding his executive order eliminating birthright citizenship:

President Donald Trump reportedly has already fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Fox News Digital.

Bondi met with Trump in the Oval Office Wednesday night ahead of his speech to the nation on the war in Iran, where she reportedly was informed of her ouster, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.

One of those sources said that by the time Trump took his place behind the podium for the address, Bondi already lost her job and was on her way back to Florida.

Trump is reportedly considering replacing Bondi with Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin, according to the sources familiar with the matter. Trump held a meeting with Zeldin at the White House Tuesday to discuss wildfire and prevention, where talks of the transition also unfolded, according to an individual familiar with the meeting.

That source relayed to Fox News Digital that Zeldin would be a plausible replacement, adding that Trump could change his mind at any point.

A person familiar with the situation tells me that Pam Bondi will be out as AG imminently, confirming scoops from @CNN and @nytimes.

Bondi’s firing comes after months of controversy following her appearance before the House Judiciary Committee. Her performance during the hearing led to speculation that she might not remain in her position for much longer.

Bondi received criticism for how she responded to lawmakers’ questions regarding sealed indictments against Democratic lawmakers and the federal response to protests. Democrats accused her of evading questions and using the hearing as an opportunity for political attacks instead of providing clear answers.

While sources have suggested that Zeldin could be Trump’s choice to replace Bondi, the president has not yet made an official announcement regarding his decision.
