The biggest argument against democracy can often be summed up in just five minutes with the average voter. The Democratic Party may be reinforcing this argument with its current actions. I’ve never seen a party push to eliminate elections and voting quite like the Democrats have in their fight over the funding of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
While this ongoing dispute over funding is largely driven by anti-Trump sentiments, it also reflects the Democrats’ long-term goal of defunding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Republicans are aware of this, which is why they chose to fund the agency through 2029 during the first reconciliation process.
As TSA agents are quitting due to lack of paychecks, it seems the Democrats believe that causing hardships for ordinary people will somehow work in their favor. This situation feels like we are dealing with legislative terrorists. I had some doubts about ending the filibuster, but I am now leaning toward supporting it because the Democrats have become legislative and, really, domestic terrorists at this point. Shutting down DHS over disputes regarding deportation is not a valid argument.
DHS funding deal is falling apart.
Senate GOP offered to fund all of DHS, except ICE’s deportation wing (ERO).
Dems just countered and demanded additional concessions, they want major ICE reforms (unmasking, judicial warrants, etc).
GOP says why would we agree to reforms for…

I’m frustrated with these people and have an unhealthy hatred of them. It’s time to eliminate the filibuster, pass the SAVE America Act, fund the Department of Homeland Security, and implement other measures that will advance our agenda. These actions will also provide us with a wealth of campaign material once our policies start making an impact. We can’t let the Democrats hinder our progress with their tactics. I’m not concerned about them regaining power; they will never have enough votes to reverse our actions. The SAVE Act will put an end to their attempts at cheating once and for all. Additionally, with the 2030 reapportionment, the potential weakening of the Voting Rights Act, and Missouri’s new map being approved by its Supreme Court, a significant advantage is on the way for the GOP.
It will allow us to do what we want, with President Trump’s signature attached to everything. That alone will drive most congressional Democrats into the loony bin.
The GOP should not fear Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries. They are not serious leaders and should be treated accordingly. Eliminate the filibuster, ignore them, and get these damned bills passed without delay.

I’m sure Democrats believe they have the GOP on the ropes, but that’s just a perception. Republicans need to have the courage to strive for maximum power. No one earns praise for ‘doing the right thing’ or for’ being bipartisan,’ especially given the backstabbing, illiberal, and completely irrational actions of some Democrats who are afraid of their own base. It’s important to ignore what the media and these individuals say and push through their resistance.
If we move forward with this, I can already see the Democrats spinning it as a “just wait until we regain power.” Not happening. I believe that a MAGA agenda pushed through Congress, free from the usual Democratic roadblocks, will bring significant advantages for working families. At worst, they might attempt to repeal SAVE, but they’ll hit a brick wall with the vetoes.
Today is day number 40 of the DHS shutdown, and a possible DHS deal in the Senate may be on the rocks.
As of 9am ET, Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s office tells @FoxNews they’ve still received no counter proposal from Democrats after GOP offered to fund all of DHS except…

Honestly, I’m fed up with this nonsense. Let’s wipe the slate clean and make Schumer even more irrelevant; after all, the Democratic base can’t stand him, and a recent NBC News poll shows that ICE is actually more popular than the Democrats. Why are we extending any respect to a party whose primary goal seems to be to protect illegal immigrants at any cost? They could be politically drained if we play our cards right. It’s time to bleed them completely dry, politically speaking.
I’m open to changing my mind, but at this point, I’m doubtful that will happen. President Trump is right; there’s only one way you deal with terrorists. Republicans need to find their spines and do it.
