The Democrats are attempting to campaign on “affordability” for the midterms, as if they genuinely care about the costs impacting the American people. However, during Joe Biden’s time in the White House, it seemed that they had little concern for this issue, as their policies led to soaring prices across the board.
Take Democrat Abigail Spanberger, for example. She ran her campaign for governor of Virginia focused on affordability, but immediately after her victory, her party introduced a slew of new taxes aimed at the public. The message here? The Democrats want you to believe they care, but when it comes down to it, their actions speak otherwise. Their true priority appears to be maintaining power.
This contradictory behavior was highlighted once again during the Senate primary in Illinois on Tuesday. Democrat Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, who has served five terms in the House, would have seemed well-positioned to leverage his experience, yet he too spoke about affordability.
“Life has become simply too expensive,” Krishnamoorthi said. “The cost of living has skyrocketed, opportunity has stalled, and it’s affecting every Illinoisan — whether they’re 8 years old or 80.
Notice that he fails to mention that prices increased under Joe Biden. Krishnamoorthi also raised $30 million for his campaign, yet he still ended up losing his primary to Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, leaving him facing widespread ridicule in the process.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., is facing online mockery after his Senate campaign’s election night watch party charged customers exorbitant prices for water, despite claiming to champion affordability issues. [….]
Krishnamoorthi supporters had to pay nearly $13 for water and $22 for a glass of wine at an event at a Chicago hotel while watching the returns come in.

He managed to raise that much money, yet people were still charged nearly $13 for a bottle of water?
He spent over $20 million and still came up short? This is reminiscent of Kamala Harris, who poured an outrageous sum into her unsuccessful bid against Donald Trump.
“Dude hired three pollsters (that we know of) and is still charging $13 for a water,” Democratic pollster Adam Carlson wrote on X.
“Thanks, volunteers, for working for me. Now pay $13 for water,” Republican strategist Collin Corbett wrote on social media. “I guess, based on how Raja treats his staff, this shouldn’t be surprising.”
“That’s worse than some stadium prices,” Politico Playbook wrote in response to the $13 water.
Even a popular Chicago bar account mocked the congressman’s cash bar prices.
“I’m professionally and personally horrified,” the account wrote.
What a glaring example of irony and hypocrisy from the Democrats! They make grand promises but often fail to deliver on them. It’s crucial for people to keep this in mind as November approaches.
They’ll tell you whatever they think you want to hear in order to win your support, but in the end, it often doesn’t lead to any real improvement in your personal finances. What a joke.
