Here’s the Latest Proof Gavin Newsom and Democrats Have Ruined California

California was once a solid red state, having been one of massive landslides won by Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan (the latter of whom was a governor of California as well). However, slowly but surely, the state trended Democrat and is now governed by a Democrat supermajority – and they’ve ruined it.

Latest case in point: Yamaha, a Japanese company which has been in California for 50 years, is out the door, moving to Georgia as part of major structural reforms to reduce costs.

The relocation won’t happen overnight. Yamaha plans to start the exit in late 2026, with the transition stretching into 2028.

Company spokesman Bob Starr said consolidating operations in Georgia simply makes business sense.

“In terms of efficiency, to have us all together in Georgia — all the functions of the business — it makes a lot of sense,” Starr said.

The departure marks another corporate blow for Cypress.

Back in 2019, Mitsubishi Motors North America ditched its longtime HQ in the city after 31 years, moving roughly 200 jobs to Franklin, Tennessee to cut costs.

Yamaha already had moved some of its operation to Georgia:

The company already shifted its marine division there in 1999 and moved its motorsports operations in 2019 — making the headquarters relocation the final piece of the puzzle.

We previously reported that the president of In-N-Out Burger criticized the poor business conditions in California while expanding the company into Tennessee. Additionally, the proposed wealth tax in California is prompting many billionaires to leave the state.

It’s not only businesses and billionaires who are affected—regular people are also finding it challenging to stay.

For the sixth year in a row, California has recorded the highest number of residents leaving the state, leading the nation in outbound migration, according to U-Haul’s latest Growth Index report. [….]

The DIY moving company speculates whether it’s a red or blue thing, noting nine of the bottom 10 growth states have Democrat governors, and seven of those states went blue in the 2024 presidential election.

This presents a compelling critique of Democrats like California Governor Gavin Newsom who have been at the helm. It highlights how their leadership fails to create a business-friendly environment or make life affordable for everyday people. One silver lining is that fewer individuals are leaving the state compared to the height of the pandemic.

However, instead of addressing these shortcomings, we see media figures like Katie Couric focusing on trivial questions, such as whether Newsom believes he’s impressively handsome. It’s hard to imagine that businesses weighing their costs against an array of burdensome regulations are concerned about Newsom’s looks.

The real question is, if this is what Democrats, including Gov. Newsom, have brought to California, why would anyone support him for the presidency? What has he done to tackle the challenges the state faces? He seems more interested in his book tour and taking shots at President Donald Trump on social media than in addressing the pressing issues at hand.

Another one bites the dust.

Don’t worry though, Gavin is “ridiculously good looking.” Apparently that will cushion the blow. https://t.co/RYvWykHwkj

Way to go @CAgovernor and your Democrat supermajority.
