Anti-Trump RINO May Have Just Crossed A Red Line With the Justice Dept.

If you know anything at all about the House of Representatives and the GOP,  you know Thomas Massie’s name. The ‘Republican’ from Kentucky has been like many other ‘Republicans’ from Kentucky (looking at you, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul) in that he has been a big, fat thorn in President Trump’s paw as the commander-in-chief has wrestled with a thin and shrinking GOP House majority to get even a modicum of his agenda passed – the one that propelled him to a popular vote and monster electoral vote win over Vice President Word Salad.

So it’s with some joy that I write this: Massie, along with his Democratic mirror image, Ro Khanna of California, may have just gotten crossways with Trump’s Justice Department, where AG Pam Bondi will likely show either of them any mercy: They falsely accused four men of being tied to the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein in front of Congress.

Ro Khanna read the names of six people on the House floor and described them as "wealthy, powerful men" involved in Epstein's crimes.

It turns out that 4 of them were just random people selected for an FBI photo lineup and had no connection to Epstein's crimes. https://t.co/upSpLpYR96 pic.twitter.com/bbANktq9zZ

Oops.

The two lawmakers alleged that four individuals whose names were redacted by the U.S. Department of Justice in a document release were “powerful men” connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

However, subsequent clarification indicated that the names appeared in the materials as part of a standard investigative lineup process and were not evidence of involvement in criminal activity. Legal analysts noted that individuals included in lineups are often selected for comparison purposes and do not necessarily have any substantive connection to a case.

But of course, neither of these two jokers wants to take any responsibility for the massive slander.

Both claimed that confusion surrounding the redactions stemmed from the Justice Department’s handling of the documents. They said the agency “illegally redacted names without explanation” and later declined to provide sufficient context once the materials were made public.

Here’s Massie whining about it to, of all people, Kaitlin Collins of CNN:

“And you see no reason why those men’s names are redacted in these files?”

“No, unless they were in some random lineup, but this requires the DOJ to respond to it.”

And Khanna the Krusader:

The problem is DOJ illegally redacted names without explanation and then refused to give context for the names once they redacted. This is why @RepThomasMassie and I have been pushing for the full release of the files with context and protecting survivors. Thanks for your…

Just pathetic. No wonder Congress’ approval rating is below that of herpes.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon argue that the duo took to social media and appeared before Congress to showcase the individuals to the public instead of contacting the DOJ for clarification beforehand.

The “problem” is that you didn’t come to us, but immediately ran to X and the House floor and made false accusations about four men, while we were checking the facts. https://t.co/mMX5W709lT

The problem is that you put political expediency and cheap clicks/demagoguery over justice and due process, making fools of yourselves in the process. Totally avoidable and unjust. https://t.co/EgrbOqWMEs

The two have faced online calls to resign for revealing the names of innocent men, with some accusing them of lacking interest in the victims and simply seeking attention.

Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna should resign for defaming these completely innocent men as pedophilic sex criminals pic.twitter.com/eYzxHfVLFF

Khanna and Massie accusing four random line up guys and then having to immediately walk it back is easily a new low point in this saga. Career defining blunder.

Doxxed 4 innocent people, and thinks it’s a fuckin joke.

This isn’t someone who cares about victims, this is someone who cares about attention. pic.twitter.com/kFXlywSoow

But you know they won’t. That would take them actually manning up and doing the right thing by taking responsibility. Instead, they’ll continue to blame the DOJ and do whatever they can to disrupt Trump’s agenda.

Pathetic.
