Beyond Sick: Here’s What A Democratic AG Candidate Just Threatened To Do To Trump

There’s a genuinely disturbing mindset spreading on the Left, rooted in post-Trump revenge fantasies and an obsession with weaponizing government power against political opponents — not just President Trump, but Republicans broadly, including voters themselves. That mentality crossed a dangerous line when an Ohio Democratic candidate for attorney general, Elliot Forhan, publicly suggested that President Donald Trump would be put to death through capital punishment if he gets elected in November.

Pay attention, Ohio voters:

Hi. This is Elliot Forhan, candidate for Ohio Attorney General,” Forhan says. “I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump. I mean, I’m going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence presented at a trial conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment. That is what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump.

Wait – aren’t Democrats opposed to capital punishment? Oh, right. For everyone but Trump (and presumably any Republican).

Unreal.

Beyond this insanity, what would the charges even be to warrant a death sentence? What’s the ‘evidence’ he claims he will present?

This doesn’t bode well for America’s political future at all. If Democrats have decided that losing an election justifies persecuting a sitting or former president, dragging him through a sham legal process, and then floating the idea of execution as some warped form of “justice,” they’ve crossed into truly dangerous territory. That’s not accountability — it’s authoritarian revenge politics dressed up in legal language.

It also reeks of backpedaling. The rhetoric sounds less like a serious legal argument and more like an attempt to clean up or rationalize earlier comments that went too far, too fast:

This is happening because a) the Democratic Party, since Barack Obama, has been steadily building an electorate of left-wing crazy lunatics who don’t want to do politics the normal way, they want to do it the Nicolas Maduro way – seize power, then prosecute and persecute their political enemies.

Just impeaching Trump isn’t good enough anymore, as conservative commentator Robbie Starbuck notes correctly:

People with TDS are a lot like drug addicts. The high of impeachment declarations and jail just don’t give them the same high anymore. Now we have Democrats running on killing the President. This guy belongs in an insane asylum.

Yeah, Robbie, he does. But no one’s going to put him there, so conservatives had best get it through our heads we ain’t dealing with grandpa’s Democratic Party anymore.
