Walz Triples Down On Anti-ICE Rhetoric Like the Pathetic Democrat He Is

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz didn’t just criticize federal immigration enforcement — he crossed a line into grotesque exaggeration, likening ICE and Border Patrol operations to the Nazis and even invoking Anne Frank as a comparison. In a press briefing, Walz suggested that children in Minnesota are “hiding in their houses” from federal agents in a way that mirrors the Holocaust, using one of the most horrific chapters in human history as a political cudgel against lawful immigration enforcement.

“We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank,” Walz said on Sunday. “Somebody is going to write that children’s story about Minnesota, and there’s one person who can end this now.”

“If it was the intention of Donald Trump to make an example of Minnesota, then I’m damn proud of the example that the world is seeing,” the governor added.

“We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank,” Walz said.

Walz proceeded to characterize Alex Pretti, who was shot after confronting Border Patrol agents last week, as a typical, innocent American, condemning the Trump administration for branding him as a domestic terrorist. He specifically called out several officials by name for their misleading accusations.

“This family has gone through enough,” Walz said of Pretti’s relatives. “And to have the most powerful man in the world drag their dead son with absolutely no evidence and gaslight the entire country.”

…says the man who’s been gaslighting the entire country in an effort to whip up anti-immigration enforcement…

“Sitting behind a keyboard at 2 a.m. and besmirching a VA nurse and a son and a coworker and a friend is despicable beyond all description,” he added.

So is gaslighting the country in a bid to take the spotlight off of your ‘alleged’ involvement in defrauding Minnesotans and hard-working Americans to protect Somalis. But that’s another story.

“Beloved by his family, accomplished ICU nurse, skillful in ability to work with veterans, someone who is beloved by the community, no criminal record, lawful firearms owner,” Walz said. “And then you heard the most powerful people in the world, certainly in this country, president, vice president, Gregory Bovino, Kristi Noem, narrate to you what you were looking at, that this was a domestic terrorist, crazed, running at law enforcement with the intent to kill massive numbers of that, sullying his name within minutes of this event happening.”

“Then closing the crime scene, sweeping away the evidence, defying a court order and not allowing anyone to look at it,” he said. “I don’t care if you are conservative and you are flying a Donald Trump flag, a libertarian ‘Don’t Tread on Me,’ a Democratic Socialist, this is an inflection point, America.”

“If we cannot all agree that the smearing of an American citizen and besmirching everything they stood for and asking us not to believe what we saw, I don’t know what else to tell you.”

How ’bout you tell us you’re going to stop whipping up your party’s crazy base to challenge federal immigration enforcement officers? The entire narrative about Pretti ignores the fact that he got up that fateful morning and made the decision a) to go confront ICE and Border Patrol agents b) while being armed.

The Trump administration has flatly rejected the fantasy that Pretti was some innocent bystander caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Federal officials have made clear they view Pretti as an aggressor who chose to confront immigration officers, assaulted them, and created a situation no law-enforcement professional could afford to misread.

From their perspective, this wasn’t chaos — it was escalation. Pretti’s actions signaled an intent to cause serious harm, presenting an imminent threat that demanded an immediate response. In that account, he wasn’t a victim of federal enforcement, but part of a growing pattern of hostility toward law enforcement that officers on the ground are increasingly forced to confront in real time.
