Obama Just Mouthed Off About ICE Operations In Minneapolis And It’s As Bad As You’d Imagine

Right on cue, as predictably as Michelle Obama lamenting racism, Barack Obama has reemerged to use tragedy as a stage for yet another lecture about how the country should be run — because in his own mind, being a two-term president makes him America’s permanent moral authority. This is the same Barack Obama who helped engineer a political ambush against President Donald Trump and then quietly pulled strings behind the scenes during the Autopen administration.

And yet, no matter how unwelcome or irrelevant his voice has become, Obama can’t resist inserting himself into every crisis, eager to scold, posture, and remind everyone that he still believes the country belongs to him.

More and more, it’s becoming clear that Barack Obama isn’t just an elitist liar — he’s also remarkably petty. Shocked? Didn’t think so.

In the aftermath of Saturday’s shooting in Minneapolis — where ICU nurse Alex Pretti brought a loaded firearm to disrupt a Border Patrol operation and was ultimately killed — Obama rushed to social media to issue a lengthy statement. The goal wasn’t restraint, facts, or accountability. It was to white-knight Pretti, take a swipe at the Trump administration, and once again insert himself into a situation where he wasn’t wanted or needed.

As always, Obama used tragedy not to calm tensions, but to score political points with the Democratic Party’s increasingly unhinged base, posture as the nation’s moral referee, and remind everyone that he still believes he should be calling the shots:

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault. pic.twitter.com/0JmEsJ1QFW

Here’s how the moral preening began:

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

So which “core values,” exactly, are supposedly under assault? The value of basic safety — of not having to worry about being raped, murdered, or run down by a criminal illegal alien? Or the value of law-abiding Americans being able to live without fear in their own communities?

Or maybe Obama means civil liberties — which is rich, coming from a former president who showed open contempt for them. This is the same administration that spied on journalists (James Rosen and Sharyl Attkisson come to mind), trampled the First Amendment rights of critics, and weaponized the IRS to harass Tea Party and pro-liberty groups simply for opposing his 2012 reelection.

Obama doesn’t get to lecture anyone about “core values.” His record makes clear that the only values he ever consistently defended were power, control, and silencing his opponents.

On and on he blathered:

Federal law enforcement and immigration agents have a tough job. But Americans expect them to carry out their duties in a lawful, accountable way, and to work with, rather than against, state and local officials to ensure public safety.

That’s not what we’re seeing in Minnesota. In fact, we’re seeing the opposite.

Well hey, Barry — if you’re so eager to lecture America about “values,” why don’t you start with your friends, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey? Federal officials — from President Donald Trump to DHS leadership to Border Patrol commanders — have repeatedly asked those two to cooperate by allowing DHS, ICE, and Border Patrol access to jails and prisons so criminal illegal aliens can be transferred into federal custody instead of being dumped back onto the streets.

Walz and Frey have refused. Not because it’s unsafe. Not because it’s illegal. But because of performative politics and the usual “muh neighbors” excuse, forcing federal agents to conduct targeted enforcement operations instead. Then those same state and city leaders turn around and whip up protesters with reckless, inflammatory rhetoric about ICE and DHS, pretending to be shocked when confrontations follow.

So maybe spare the country the sermon and direct it where it belongs. The breakdown isn’t with federal officials trying to enforce the law — it’s with Democratic leaders who refuse to cooperate, incite hostility, and then blame everyone else when chaos erupts. Obama knows this, of course.

You ordered the extrajudicial and targeted killings of American citizens, including minors, via drone strikes.

Sit this one out, Barry. https://t.co/wGyFtV2szc

This is where Obama gets to what he thinks is the knockout punch — and it’s pure contempt. He doesn’t just take a swipe at ICE; he sneers at the entire Trump administration’s enforcement surge, reducing seasoned federal officers to “masked ICE recruits,” as if they’re amateurs pulled off the street. It’s a deliberate insult to men and women with years of training, experience, and service who put their lives on the line.

Rather than engage the facts or acknowledge reality, Obama cranks “President Petty” up to eleven, dismissing professionalism in favor of cheap rhetoric.

It’s not analysis. It’s not leadership. It’s a former president lashing out, eager to belittle those enforcing the law because doing so fits his narrative:

For weeks now, people across the country have been rightly outraged by the spectacle of masked ICE recruits and other federal agents acting with impunity and engaging in tactics that seem designed to intimidate, harass, provoke and endanger the residents of a major American city. These unprecedented tactics — which even the former top lawyer of the Department of Homeland Security in the first Trump administration has characterized as embarrassing, lawless and cruel — have now resulted in the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens. And yet rather than trying to impose some semblance of discipline and accountability over the agents they’ve deployed, the President and current administration officials seem eager to escalate the situation, while offering public explanations for the shootings of Mr. Pretti and Renee Good that aren’t informed by any serious investigation — and that appear to be directly contradicted by video evidence.

Talk about deceptive and disingenuous. The very tactics Border Czar Tom Homan is using today — targeted interior enforcement sweeps and aggressive arrests of criminal illegal aliens — are the same basic approaches he employed years ago when he ran Enforcement and Removal Operations under President Barack Obama. In fact, Obama himself honored Homan with a Presidential Rank Award back in 2015 for his leadership of that division — an award given to top civil servants for “extraordinary results” — precisely because Homan excelled at enforcing immigration laws.

Wait — he didn’t actually think. He’s just recycling the same dishonest talking points with zero self-awareness. During his two terms in the White House, Barack Obama earned the nickname “Deporter-in-Chief” from both critics on the left and enforcement advocates, not because it was some fringe view but because his administration oversaw massive levels of immigration enforcement and deportations. The Obama administration faced criticism from the ACLU and human rights groups for the inadequate conditions at ICE facilities, including the detention of children in cages.

Remember that, Barry?

67 people died while in ICE custody during the Obama administration – no protests, no riots

The Obama years saw migrant detention systems plagued by documented issues of substandard medical care, contributing to preventable deaths – all under the director of Barack Obama.

According to the ACLU, those violations in medical standards factored into at least eight deaths between 2010 and 2012 alone. By mid-2016, count reached 56 deaths under Obama, including six su*cides.

About 67 total deaths happened during Obama’s full time in office, according to ICE records.

Critics say that even though Obama’s administration oversaw one of the highest death rates of migrants in custody, No major riots erupted, no protests and no coordinated effort to disrupt ICE operations or ‘take out’ ICE agents.

#ChristinaAguayoNews Meanwhile, coordinated anti-ICE protests – that turn into riots – have erupted across the nation.

ICE “tactics” didn’t cause the deaths of Renee Nicole Good or Alex Pretti — their own actions did. As investigations continue and video evidence is reviewed, it’s becoming increasingly clear that both individuals deliberately chose to harass, intimidate, and interfere with lawful immigration operations. That reality doesn’t fit the Left’s narrative, which is why they’re desperately trying to shift blame away from personal responsibility and onto federal agents.

Obama attempted to gaslight the public by claiming DHS and Border Patrol accounts were “contradicted by video evidence.” That claim collapses the moment you actually watch the footage. The Left lost Renee Good as a poster child for supposed ICE brutality precisely because the video showed the opposite of what activists claimed: she stalked ICE agents for hours, refused lawful commands during an arrest, and then used her vehicle as a weapon, ramming an ICE agent and causing serious internal injuries. Her death was the tragic result of her own escalating actions, not some rogue enforcement policy.

Facts matter — and the more video that comes out, the harder it becomes for Democrats and their media allies to keep selling a narrative that simply isn’t supported by reality.

Obama ended with this: “They are a timely reminder that ultimately it’s up to each of us as citizens to speak out against injustice, protect our basic freedoms, and hold our government accountable.”

Yeah, okay. Under his administration none of these rights were respected, so this admonishment is about as relevant as he is these days.
