Jack Smith Finally Gets What He Deserves From GOP In House Committee Appearance

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith — yes, that Jack Smith, the same man who authorized surveillance of Republican lawmakers during his spectacularly failed “Arctic Frost” witch hunt — is finally on Capitol Hill today to face something he’s managed to dodge for years: accountability.

This is the prosecutor who was unleashed to “get Trump” at any cost. Not to seek justice. Not to follow evidence. But to weaponize the Department of Justice in a last-ditch political operation aimed at crippling the leading presidential candidate of the opposition party.

GOP Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (OH-04) showed up prepared for a heated exchange, bringing his A-game to the table. It’s important that we don’t overlook the overreach of Smith, he noted:

“We should never forget what took place, what they did to the guy ‘We the People’ elected president twice,” Jordan said, referring to Trump. “The good news is, the American people saw through it.”

Smith’s probe into the laughable theory that Trump “rigged” the 2020 election collapsed under its own weight — but not before it spied on sitting members of Congress, trampled civil liberties, and turned the DOJ into an extension of the Democratic National Committee.

And now, at long last, the architect of that abuse has to answer questions.

Smith, who appears to possess the emotional range and pulse of a tranquilized sloth, spent most of the hearing sitting there stone-faced, staring blankly ahead as if hoping invisibility might suddenly become a legal defense.

Meanwhile, Jim Jordan — one of the very lawmakers Smith authorized spying on — did not come to play.

Jordan was pure fire. High energy. Laser focused. Relentless:

For so long, the left has controlled so much in this country.

[The] Left control big media, the Left control Big Tech, the Left control academia, Hollywood. Certainly the Democrat Party, and I think, all too much, the federal bureaucracy.

But the Left doesn’t control We the People. And in spite of the Left, and the weaponization efforts of [former FBI Director “St. Jim”] Jim Comey, [“I love all criminals” Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg, [disgraced Fulton County Georgia District Attorney] Fani Willis, and Jack Smith, We the People saw through it all — and we elected President Trump twice.

And the timeline alone tells the whole story.

Smith conveniently opened his investigation just days after Donald Trump announced his 2024 presidential campaign. Not months later. Not after new evidence surfaced. Immediately after Trump re-entered the race.

Pure coincidence, we’re told.

Then came the theatrics — the early-morning raid on Trump’s home, the cameras, the spectacle, the message: we will humiliate you publicly, no matter how thin the case is. Agents rifled through closets, drawers, and yes — even his wife’s lingerie:

Make no mistake: this hearing isn’t about legal theory. It’s about whether a federal prosecutor used the full machinery of the United States government to conduct political warfare. It’s about surveillance. It’s about lawfare. It’s about whether the Justice Department was transformed into a blunt instrument for regime protection.

Smith can posture all he wants.

But today, the man who spent years trying to “get Trump” is finally the one in the hot seat.

And it’s long overdue.
