Just when you thought things could not get any more insane in Minneapolis, along comes the failed Somali mayoral candidate, Omar Fatah.

Apparently, Minnesota Democrat Omar Fateh thought it would be a brilliant idea to publicly declare Minneapolis’s Somali-heavy Cedar-Riverside neighborhood—better known as “Little Mogadishu”—a “no-go zone for white supremacists.”

Just one problem. Actually, there are several problems. And we’ll get to those in a moment.

Fateh, joined by a couple of like-minded friends, took to X on Saturday and proudly posted a photo of the three of them standing in front of the Cedar-Riverside towers, accompanied by that smug little caption: “Cedar Strong. White Supremacists aren’t welcome here. We protect our own.”

When pressed by journalist David Marcus, who wrote “You don’t decide who is and isn’t welcome anywhere. We don’t allow ‘no-go zones,’” Fateh doubled down, replying: “This is a No-Go zone for white supremacists.”

Uh, whatever you say, sport. Except, that’s gonna be a big, big problem for you.

Far be it from me to nitpick, Omar buddy, but here’s the reality:

Declaring any public neighborhood a “no-go zone” for law-abiding citizens isn’t just obnoxious—it’s unconstitutional. That kind of nonsense doesn’t fly under the Constitution, and it certainly isn’t going to fly with the Trump administration. Neither the government nor some radicalized, failed mayoral candidate gets to decide which lawful Americans are allowed to exist in public spaces and which aren’t.

Public neighborhoods are not political fiefdoms. They don’t belong to activists, racial blocs, or grandstanding politicians chasing clout on social media. They belong to the public—all of it—whether the left likes that fact or not.

That whole “we take care of our own” routine isn’t just laughable—it’s disturbing, and it’s flatly incompatible with the laws of this country. Americans have the right to move freely within the United States. Full stop.

What’s especially rich is the race-baiting. Fateh tries to play the “white supremacist” card, apparently without a shred of self-awareness. Because the only actual supremacy on display here is the idea that he and ‘his people’ are entitled to public spaces while others are not, based on race, ideology, or political convenience.

More here:

“No-go zone” is a term popularized in Europe that refers to Muslim-majority neighborhoods where it is not safe for White people to go.

The first and obvious question here is, what does Fateh mean by “white supremacist.” But before we get to that, let’s be clear, if somebody wants to don full Nazi regalia and walk up and down the sidewalk in Little Mogadishu, Minnesota, while doing the John Cleese funny Hitler walk, they can.

Omar Fateh is not talking about the Ku Klux Klan or even the Proud Boys here. He is almost certainly talking about anyone who supports President Donald Trump and the operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Twin Cities.

The phrase “no-go zone” isn’t some invented right-wing buzzword. It’s commonly used to describe migrant or Muslim-majority districts where police presence is minimal, outsiders are actively discouraged, and parallel rules quietly replace the law. Cities like Paris, Malmö, Cologne, and parts of Brussels have all faced serious accusations of drifting into exactly that territory—thanks to failed integration, gang violence, and the rise of informal “justice” systems. So yes, what could possibly go wrong?

Which raises an uncomfortable question. Does Fateh honestly believe his juvenile declaration won’t inflame tensions? That it won’t embolden the same activist mobs already disrupting churches and streets? That it won’t increase the likelihood of confrontations, disorder, or violence—perhaps even with the explicit goal of provoking ICE into a response that can be spun into propaganda for the left-wing media’s outrage machine?

Nah. Surely that’s overthinking it. After all, given his track record, he seems like such a measured, responsible, and peace-loving fellow.
