DOJ Now Probing Renee Good’s ‘Wife’ Over ‘Drive, Baby, Drive’ Video

In the days following the death of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent on January 7 after she drove her Honda Pilot directly at him, the media reflexively searched for a villain — and predictably landed on the badge, not the behavior that triggered the confrontation.

What’s been far less examined is the role played by Rebecca Good, Renee’s partner, in escalating an already volatile situation on the icy streets of Minneapolis. This wasn’t a passive bystander caught up in events. Rebecca was captured on video taunting federal agents, inserting herself into the encounter, and infamously urging Renee to flee with the now-viral command: “Drive, baby, drive!”

Renee followed that reckless advice — and paid the ultimate price for it.

Yet while the left rushes to canonize everyone adjacent to the incident, an uncomfortable question lingers: Shouldn’t there be consequences for the person who encouraged the deadly decision? Rebecca Good wasn’t merely present; she was actively obstructive, loud, and antagonistic as agents attempted to detain Renee. The old saying applies perfectly here — her mouth wrote a check her body couldn’t cash:

Subsequent videos that went viral on social media only underscored how both Renee and Rebecca weren’t accidental bystanders — they were actively interfering with an active ICE operation in the critical minutes before the shooting. While Renee sat in her two-ton Honda Pilot blocking traffic and blasting her horn, refusing to allow federal officers to carry out their lawful duties, Rebecca didn’t stay in the vehicle watching from a distance. She jumped out of the SUV, phone in hand, putting herself right in the middle of the confrontation and documenting it up close.

It was never about justice or accountability. It was about clicks and clout — and getting both at any cost.

Democrats rushed to recast the two meddlers as nothing more than “two normal lesbian moms” who had just dropped their child off at a social-justice-themed charter school and somehow accidentally wandered into the middle of an ICE operation, utterly confused and helpless about how to leave. It was a carefully constructed fairy tale — one designed to sanitize deliberate interference and rebrand agitation as innocence.

The Department of Justice, however, appears far less interested in that narrative. Reports surfaced over the weekend indicating that the DOJ is now investigating Rebecca Good for her role in the chain of events that led to Renee Good’s death:

Federal officials are investigating Renee Nicole Good’s partner to determine whether she may have impeded a federal officer moments before he shot and killed Good in Minneapolis, according to two people familiar with the investigation who spoke to NBC News.

The federal investigation into the shooting by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Jonathan Ross is focusing more on Becca Good, including what officials said were her possible ties to activist groups, and less on Ross’ actions when he fired into Renee Good’s vehicle during an immigration operation last week, the people said.

The Justice Department hasn’t stopped at targeting a grieving partner — it’s now reportedly turned its sights on Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, alleging that their public actions and rhetoric helped fan the flames of unrest in Minneapolis and interfere with federal immigration enforcement. According to multiple reports, the DOJ is probing whether the two Democrats conspired to impede federal immigration agents — a stunning escalation of federal muscle against elected officials who loudly opposed the enforcement operation.

Honestly, when you strip away the titles and the salary, Jacob Frey and Tim Walz are just Renee Good and Rebecca Good with bigger paychecks and fancier letterhead — two people who reacted emotionally, politicized the chaos, and now find themselves facing scrutiny for the very conduct they once cheered on.

And in case you’re wondering if this kind of activism is worth it, a GoFundMe page for Rebecca Good raised over $1.5 million for the grieving “widow.”
