It’s a gruesome injury, but it wasn’t an accident—it was self-inflicted through reckless behavior. The only people lining up with sympathy are bleeding-heart liberals eager to excuse anything so long as it fits their narrative. This wasn’t some innocent bystander; it was someone who chose to interfere with a lawful arrest and paid the predictable price when federal agents responded with force. Actions have consequences, even when activists don’t want to admit it.
“I will be blind for life. I have fractures in my skull that they can’t fix…They said it was a miracle I survived,” said Kaden Rummler, 21. The incident occurred in Santa Ana, California, last Friday:

A 21-year-old who demonstrated in Santa Ana, California, last Friday against the shooting death of Renee Good in Minnesota says exercising his right to free speech nearly cost him his life after a federal agent shot him with a less-lethal round — and that he now can’t see out of his left eye.
“Not even light and I never will,” Kaden Rummler told CBS News, explaining the extent of his injury.
At one point during the protest, which turned chaotic, a federal agent could be seen on video pulling a protester from the crowd. That was when Rummler, holding a megaphone, rushed toward the agent and protester, and was then shot in the eye with a less-lethal round at close range.
Video shows an agent dragging Rummler from the scene with his face covered in blood.
“I just started feeling like a bit of warmth down my, my face,” Rummler recalled.
I don’t know how many more times I can write or say this but. FAFO, bro. The simplest way to avoid getting hurt by law enforcement is not to interfere with law enforcement. There is no magic immunity for activists, no special shield made of slogans and feelings.

Disagreeing with a policy does not grant you the right to obstruct officers, assault them, or disrupt an arrest. That’s not how a functioning society works. Congress undergoes intense periods of uselessness, but if you have a problem with a law that has been passed, the best way not to get your eye shot out is to give him or her a call and voice your opinion.
Ignore that basic, common-sense societal rule and the outcome is predictable: force is met with force, and the consequences land squarely on the person who chose to escalate.
