Omar Claims ICE Isn’t Arresting Criminals, But She’s Lying And Here’s The Proof

As ICE works to clean up Minneapolis by removing illegal immigrants, Democrats are growing increasingly frantic—rushing to shield lawbreakers at the expense of public safety and forcing American taxpayers to foot the bill for their reckless priorities. Ilhan Omar recently joined Chris Hayes on left-wing MS NOW to drop the massive lie that ICE hasn’t arrested any criminal illegal aliens.

“They have not been able to tell us what is the purpose for this surge,” Omar said. “They haven’t been able to produce any evidence that they are finding people who are undocumented who have committed crimes. Every single person that they have information and shared information with us has been someone that has already been adjudicated and was already in prison. So there’s no way to justify what they are doing. It is unleashing complete terror on the residents of Minnesota.”

First things first: ICE doesn’t have to tell Ilhan Omar or any other Democrat why they surge to a particular part of the country. They are federal law enforcers and it doesn’t take a genius to deduce that where immigration enforcement officers ‘surge’ there is very likely a large population of people in the country illegally.

Secondly – and why anyone keeps having to point this out to Omar and her ilk is beyond me – anyone who enters our country illegally has broken the law. It doesn’t matter if that person is your gardener or someone committing heinous other crimes: They are already criminals.

Third, if the good “residents of Minnesota” are American citizens or otherwise in the country legally, they have zero to worry about from ICE and the Border Patrol. Unless, of course, they try to use their vehicle as a weapon to injure or kill a federal officer.

As to Omar’s claim that ICE isn’t arresting violent criminal illegal aliens, Fox News’ Bill Melugin put that lie to rest:

Here are just a few of the illegal alien dirtbags who have committed crimes in America that ICE has detained and will remove:

  • Aler Gomez Lucas, a Guatemalan illegal alien convicted of negligent homicide with a vehicle and DUI with a deportation order since 2022.
  • Gilberto Salguero Landaverde, a Salvadoran illegal alien convicted of three counts of homicide with a deportation order since June 2025.
  • Ge Yang, a Laotian illegal alien convicted of strong-arm rape, aggravated assault with a weapon, and strangulation with a deportation order since 2012.
  • Aldrin Guerrero Munoz, a Mexican illegal alien convicted of homicide with a deportation order since 2015.

Data from ICE indicates that approximately 70 percent of detainees in 2025 had criminal records in the United States.

DHS Secretar Kristi Noem has also listed several illegal alien criminals detained:

Omar is flat-out lying when she claims ICE isn’t arresting criminals and removing them from our communities. They are—and we have dozens of names and faces from Minnesota and across the country to prove it. But Democrats reflexively oppose anything the Trump administration does, and they rely on illegal immigrants as a political shield, so they lie to the public and pretend ICE isn’t doing the job of cleaning up our streets.

It’s beyond sickening that we have a major political party in America which default modes into protecting criminals and illegal aliens over their constituents and other citizens, and then lies about it all while demonizing the federal agents and agencies trying to keep us safe.
