Anyone familiar with Bill and Hillary Clinton could have predicted this outcome: defiance, not compliance. Despite subpoenas to testify before the House Oversight Committee in the Jeffrey Epstein matter, the Clintons once again failed to show. They had already skipped earlier dates, and now Bill Clinton blew off the rescheduled appearance set for Jan. 13. Hillary Clinton was slated for Jan. 14.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) confirmed the no-show, underscoring what many Americans have come to expect from the Clintons—one set of rules for them, another for everyone else:
“I think everyone knows by now Bill Clinton did not show up. And I think it’s important to note that this subpoena was voted on in a bipartisan manner by this committee,” Comer told reporters after formally ending the deposition.
“No one’s accusing Bill Clinton of any wrongdoing. We just have questions. And that’s why the Democrats voted, along with Republicans, to subpoena Bill Clinton.”
The Clintons’ attorneys made it crystal clear: they’re not complying and they’re openly challenging the subpoenas. In their letter to Chairman Comer, they argued Bill and Hillary had already provided what they knew, adding, “[T]he Subpoenas issued to President and Secretary Clinton are invalid and legally unenforceable.”

Then the Clintons themselves sent Comer a combative letter obtained by the New York Times, full of the usual Clinton dramatics about “standing up to tyrannical government.” It even recycled a politically charged reference to an “ICE agent [who] killed an unarmed mother.” Unreal.

“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences,” the ex-first couple wrote to Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), according to a letter first reported by the New York Times.
“For us, now is that time,” the former first couple added.
Even by Clinton standards, this is audacious. They’re cannibalizing every tired Democratic talking point — authoritarian government, victimhood, law enforcement hysteria — to justify ducking sworn testimony. According to them, they’re not refusing to appear because they don’t want to testify; they’re refusing because they’re heroic truth-tellers standing up to oppression. The sheer gall is remarkable.
If they truly knew nothing, the solution would be simple: show up, sit down, and answer the questions. That’s how innocence works. But that’s not what’s happening here. Bill Clinton, in particular, would be forced to go on the record about a long list of uncomfortable facts — including widely circulated photos of him with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Those images alone are Exhibit A for why testimony is necessary. And that’s precisely why they’re avoiding it.
So, we knew this was coming – and likely, so did Comer, who announced that there will be the appropriate consequences:

“We will move next week in the House Oversight Committee … to hold Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress,” Comer said.
He wouldn’t confirm whether they would go after Hillary just yet since she’s not set to appear until Wednesday. However, it’s quite likely that she will also skip out, so that’s probably the next step coming up.
