President Trump weighed in on Truth Social as tensions escalated in Minneapolis following the shooting of a violent protester by an ICE officer. After reviewing the footage, Trump described the incident as a disturbing display of aggression, saying the woman “violently, willfully, and viciously” assaulted the agent and calling it “a horrible thing to watch.”
The president stated that, after watching the clip of the deadly altercation, he was surprised to learn that the officer had survived and reported that the agent is now recovering in the hospital. Additionally, Trump mentioned, “The situation is being studied in its entirety.”

I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense. Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!
Tensions were already running high in Minneapolis as ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers moved into the city amid stepped-up immigration enforcement. Those tensions were further fueled by the recent deployment of additional federal personnel tasked with investigating the staggering loss of roughly $9 billion in taxpayer funds to fraudulent childcare operations—another scandal underscoring the scope of the state’s mismanagement.
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin posted to social media that the agent in question fired defensive shots because he feared for “the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public.”
An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.
He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.
Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz—now under an intense national spotlight after widespread welfare-related fraud was exposed on his watch—held a press conference Wednesday afternoon claiming he was prepared to act if riots were to erupt.
“We are preparing the National Guard. They are prepared to be deployed if necessary,” Walz, who is responsible for some of the reprehensible and inflammatory rhetoric directed at ICE agents, added.
Last month, ICE agents in Maryland shot two suspected undocumented individuals after their van collided with the agents’ vehicles. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening, and there were no resulting riots.
