Democrats predictably used the fifth anniversary of January 6 as an occasion for dramatic rhetoric and political theater, complete with emotional appeals and dire warnings. As expected, figures across the party took to social media to issue solemn statements claiming the nation nearly lost its democracy and labeling the day as one of the darkest moments in U.S. history.
Insert a hardy “Oh, Brother,” here.
“The insurrection and attack on the U.S. Capitol were among the most dangerous threats to the rule of law in America since our nation’s founding,” Sen. Adam “Pencilneck” Schiff said in a statement.
I’m thinking the Civil War, World Wars I and II, and, I don’t know, probably even the Democrat-led ‘civil rights’ riots in the 1960s were all far worse threats, but that’s me.

“January 6, 2021, showed us how fragile our democracy is,” Kamala tweeted. Actually, no. It demonstrated that bringing down the federal government would require far more than just a crowd of protesters.
“The day democracy was placed at greater risk than it has been in a century, and more than a century,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) echoed.
Do you all listen to what you’re saying? You’re practically inviting others to ridicule you with your constant theatrics.
But the most over-the-top display came from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who presided over what amounted to a solemn, quasi-religious ritual on Capitol Hill. The candle lighting, hymns, and moments of reflection resembled a political liturgy more than a civic observance, reinforcing the sense that Democrats were attempting to revive January 6 as a symbolic centerpiece for a party struggling to regain momentum.
The Democratic Party is beyond insane at this point.
A fake candlelight vigil for a made-up holy day. And then they sang…this is the modern Democrat party. pic.twitter.com/jvbzutnRqn

I cannot stop laughing at Dems holding a f***ing candlelight vigil to mark the fifth anniversary of January 6th. This really is their high holy day. pic.twitter.com/WyvqJqdq4u

Earlier Tuesday, the White House undercut many of Democrats’ juvenile talking points by launching a new website that directly challenged their preferred narratives and shredded former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for failing to ensure adequate security at the Capitol.

Radio host and FOT (Friend of Trump) Clay Travis couldn’t resist:
Democrats had a candlelit vigil on the fifth anniversary of January 6th and sang “God Bless America.” These people are such huge, colossal losers. The only people impressed by this are unmarried women over 50. That’s their party.

As with so many of these moments, however, someone inevitably comes out on top—and this time it was Vice President JD Vance. With a single, rudimentary AI-generated image, he managed to puncture the spectacle and underscore its absurdity far more effectively than pages of commentary ever could:

That, in a nutshell, says it all. Expect even more theatrics from Democrats heading into 2026—because at the moment, political spectacle appears to be their primary strategy.
