Amid a weekend packed with major U.S. action in Venezuela, President Donald Trump still made time for what he described as a “lovely” dinner with Elon Musk on Saturday at Mar-a-Lago. The timing wasn’t accidental. When the world is watching and Trump still prioritizes that relationship, it tells you just how important—and intentional—it is.
Had a lovely dinner last night with @POTUS and @FLOTUS.

That renewed alliance is already shaping up to be a net positive not just for the GOP, but for the broader global picture. Musk brings technological clout, cultural reach, and a willingness to openly confront the radical left—something few corporate titans have had the backbone to do.
And he’s made his intentions clear. Musk has thrown down the gauntlet, signaling he’s ready to support Republicans: “America was toast if the radical left wins.”
America is toast if the radical left wins.
They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud.
Won’t be America anymore. https://t.co/9lppGuSyAV

Axios noted that Musk is already supporting GOP candidates, which is a big deal:
The tech billionaire recently cut big checks to help Republicans win congressional races next year and indicated he’d give more throughout the 2026 cycle, two sources with knowledge of the situation tell Axios. [….[
Musk’s latest donations came after he had dinner last month with Vice President Vance, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Taylor Budowich, a former White House deputy chief of staff who’s still wired into the administration.
Musk had already been one of the largest Republican donors in 2024, so that alone was welcome news.

But he didn’t stop there. After his dinner with President Donald Trump, Musk announced he would provide Starlink free of charge in Venezuela through February 3—a genuinely generous move. “In support of the people of Venezuela,” Musk wrote.
It’s hard to overstate how meaningful that is. Reliable communications can be the difference between isolation and organization, between propaganda and truth. One has to assume this will significantly aid both the democratic opposition and ordinary Venezuelans who’ve lived for years under censorship, surveillance, and state control.
Trump, by the way, praised Elon on his way back to the White House from Mar-a-Lago in Florida:
Trump tonight on @elonmusk: "Elon's great. He's 80% super genius and 20% he makes mistakes, but he's a good guy. He's a well meaning person." pic.twitter.com/QUprw06bie

How do you know they’re really back on good terms? Because Musk didn’t just nod politely—he laughed. After Trump made the comment, Musk responded by sharing a meme of the two of them as “bros,” chatting it up on the phone.
