Never let it be said that Donald Trump doesn’t know how to send the Left into a full-blown meltdown. Granted, yanking their chains is a worthwhile exercise any day of the week—and twice on Sunday—but Trump has turned it into an art form. Lately, he’s been giving master classes.
The new year we’re standing on the edge of is handing him fresh opportunities, as the nation heads into celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary. And true to form, Trump isn’t interested in small, forgettable gestures. He intends to make it an event for the ages—one that unapologetically celebrates American greatness.
Among the ideas already driving liberals up the wall: the construction of a triumphal arch in Washington. To normal Americans, it sounds like a bold, patriotic tribute to the country’s founding. To the Left, it’s apparently an existential threat. Which, of course, is exactly why it’s brilliant:
? WOW! President Trump just showed off to the entire room his plans to build a triumphal arch monument for America's 250th birthday – set to be located near the Arlington Memorial Bridge

On Wednesday, President Trump announced that construction of the arch will begin within two months and proposed a name for the structure:
President Donald Trump revealed Wednesday how soon an Arc de Triomphe-style monument will be constructed in the nation’s capital to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
Trump on Wednesday said the construction of the monument, nicknamed the “Arc de Trump,” will begin “sometime in the next two months,” according to a report from Politico.
“It hasn’t started yet. It starts sometime in the next two months. It’ll be great. Everyone loves it,” Trump reportedly told the outlet during a phone call from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. “They love the ballroom too. But they love the Triumphal Arch.”
Forget the nicknames—just make it official. Imagine the sheer apoplexy from the nation’s leftists if the “Arc de Trump” rose in the heart of the capital, ranked right alongside the Washington, Lincoln, and Jefferson monuments as a must-see landmark. The meltdowns would be immediate, spectacular, and entirely self-inflicted.
This wouldn’t just trigger Trump Derangement Syndrome—it would elevate it. We’d be talking Stage V, maybe even Stage VI TDS: full-blown hysteria, endless media screeds, performative outrage spirals, and activist convulsions that make everything we’ve seen so far look quaint. The Left has convinced itself that Trump is an existential threat; a permanent monument celebrating American greatness with his fingerprints on it would short-circuit whatever sanity they have left.
But as they say, ‘wait – there’s more’ – and really it’s the best part:
The newest monument, which resembles Paris’ historic Arc de Triomphe, will be bankrolled privately, with funds left over from the new White House ballroom project, Fox News Digital previously reported.
They can’t even pretend this is some reckless waste of taxpayer money as if Democrats who ran up the deficit like mad during Joe Biden’s first two dreadful years in office care about that anyway.
There’s a method to the showmanship—there always has been. We saw it all through Trump’s first term, most famously with the so-called “mean tweets.” The president has a knack for dropping a headline-grabbing bombshell while quietly working the levers of power behind the scenes. It’s classic misdirection: point dramatically, shout “SQUIRREL!”, and watch the Left and the legacy media (but I repeat myself) sprint off in a frenzy.
While they’re chasing imaginary scandals and frothing over symbolism, Trump is cutting deals, slashing regulations, and grinding through the unglamorous work that actually matters.
So why not let the man put his name on the arch? It may very well become Donald Trump’s most enduring thumb in the eye of the American Left—and if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it right.
Long after the shrieking fades and the hashtags rot, the monument would still stand there, a permanent reminder that Trump not only governed, but owned the left.
