Take a breather today, readers—because tomorrow ushers in 2026, and with it, we’re officially on a collision course with the midterm elections.
Reports noted yesterday about what the Democratic Party is already cooking up for 2026, and surprise, surprise—it’s the same reheated slop they serve every cycle. Nothing new, nothing inspired, just the same tired fearmongering and grievance politics they fall back on when they have no results to run on.
On top of kicking off the new year with yet another reheated rehash of January 6, Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is urging colleagues to mark the fifth anniversary by “examining ongoing threats to free and fair elections posed by an out-of-control Trump administration.” At the same time, Democrats plan to frame the Trump administration’s efforts to curb violence in deep-blue cities as some kind of voter-intimidation scheme designed to suppress turnout.
Same old garbage, right?
The Left also intends to put a fresh coat of polish on its tired “election interference” talking point by questioning the motives behind the administration’s push for states to clean up their voter rolls ahead of the 2026 elections. Because in Democrat world, basic election hygiene is always suspicious—especially when it might prevent fraud.
Leading the charge is David Becker, a former Justice Department voting-rights attorney and now executive director of the Center for Election Innovation & Research, who is already warming up the scare-mongering machine. He said: “They’re trying to use the power of the executive to bully states into turning over highly sensitive data — date of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license, the Holy Trinity of identity theft — hand it over to the DOJ for who knows what use.”
Who knows what use? How about to ensure election integrity? And besides – under the federal ‘motor-voter’ law passed during Slick Willy’s first term – states are already required to scrub their voter registration rolls for inaccuracies, dead people, illegal aliens, people who have moved out of state, etc.
And because several states have failed to perform this basic required duty (a-hem…yes, most are run by Democrats), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is now suing 22 if them for failing to produce their full voter registration lists upon request from the federal government. “The law is clear: states need to give us this information, so we can do our duty to protect American citizens from vote dilution,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has devoted considerable resources this year to initiatives aimed at election integrity, and based on a press release from the RNC, they recently achieved a significant victory in Michigan after a court instructed Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson “to stop counting absentee ballots with missing or mismatched ballot numbers unless voters properly cure them.”
RNC Chairman Joe Gruters celebrated the decision, saying, “This is a clear victory for election integrity. The court reaffirmed that ballots with missing or mismatched numbers cannot be counted under Michigan law and ordered Secretary Benson to follow a lawful, commonsense process to protect the vote. Democrats don’t get to bend the rules to make it easier to cheat.”
The Michigan win puts the finishing touch on a banner year for the Republican National Committee, which has been racking up victories while Democrats complain from the sidelines. The RNC reports 134 active election-related cases, including 115 focused specifically on election integrity, along with more than 150 investigatory and regulatory actions spanning all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Chairman Gruters said of the RNC’s efforts, “Because of the hard work of our legal and grassroots teams, voters can have greater confidence in the integrity of our elections. I’m proud of what we accomplished in 2025, and we’re ready to build on that momentum in the year ahead.”
Next year will be a wild ride, politically speaking, dear readers. So make sure you stick with us here at USA Journal because we’ll cover it all with that brutal conservative honestly you’ve come to love.
