Leave it to the Trump administration to find new and creative ways to double and triple down on the president’s pledge to mass deport people in our country illegally. And for Democrats to be furious about it.
The Department of Homeland Security and ICE revealed this week that they are offering a substantial incentive for illegal immigrants to leave the country voluntarily.
On December 22, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced a new program that would provide illegal immigrants with a one-time payment of $3,000 if they opt for self-deportation. This figure is a $2,000 increase from the $1,000 incentive that the Trump administration has been providing since the start of his second term.
“Well, it’s home for the holidays season so, you know, not only are we returning those kiddos back to their families that Biden lost, we also are saying that if you voluntarily want to go home now to your country, if you’re in this United States of America illegally, we will give you $3,000 through the holidays to send you home,” Noem said in a Fox News interview. “We will buy you a ticket, give you $3,000 to go home, and that includes people that have not been detained, maybe have interacted with us, are detained, and don’t have criminal charges against them.”
“Raise your hand, we’ll help you get home, we’ll facilitate it, and you might get the chance to come back to this country the right way someday,” Noem added. “If you wait until we interdict you and detain you, and arrest you, and have to deport you ourselves, you’ll never get the chance to come back. So go on the CBP home app, and get the information, and we’ll make sure you get home in time for Christmas.”
True to form, the DHS also dropped a festive ad introducing the offer – it featured Santa Claus donning dome ICE gear.

Naturally, the left-wing of America hates the idea and can’t believe Team Trump is spending money like this.

What BS. Claims about the cost or fairness of enforcement ring hollow to many conservatives, who point to the Biden administration’s immigration policies as the root cause of the current crisis. Under Joe Biden, millions of illegal immigrants were allowed to enter and remain in the country while receiving housing, food, education, and other benefits at taxpayer expense.
Estimates frequently cited by critics put the annual cost to American taxpayers at more than $150 billion. From that perspective, whatever resources are required to enforce immigration law or carry out deportations would amount to a fraction of what it costs to indefinitely support those who entered the country illegally.
And let’s not forget this mess was created by Biden the Brainless and the cartel who ran his administration; Trump’s team is simply trying to clean up the mess, as one social media user noted.

The Biden administration aimed to create such a chaotic situation that resolving it would be unfeasible for the next administration, regardless of party affiliation. Clearly, Kamala Harris would have upheld Biden’s policies and potentially worsened the situation.
Addressing the immigration issue is challenging because Democrats have made it difficult.
