It’s remarkable how quickly things can change when there’s real leadership at the top in our country.
Since being appointed by President Donald Trump, Border Czar Tom Homan has moved aggressively to restore order at the southern border, cracking down on illegal crossings and ramping up deportations. The results speak for themselves, as enforcement is finally being taken seriously again after years of neglect:

And keep in mind, this effort hasn’t even been underway for a full year.
In an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Homan detailed a recent tour of the southern border, including stops in the San Diego region, Arizona, and Texas. What he described should be impossible according to the open-borders crowd — yet the results were striking, underscoring just how effective firm enforcement can be when it’s actually implemented.

He noted:
Unprecedented, nothing like this in the history of the county. Look, we got the most secure border in the history of this nation. The most secure ever. And that’s based on real data. I just came back… I just did a border review in San Diego, Texas, and Arizona. I toured the border by air, by boat, and by 4-wheel drive. Three days on the southern border, Maria, I didn’t see a single illegal alien. And I’ve been doing this since 1984, even back when I was in back in Border Patrol.
Three days without a single illegal alien in my sight. It’s the most secure border ever, and by doing that, as you said, it’s down 95 percent. How many aliens aren’t dying now, making that journey? How many pounds of fentanyl aren’t getting in, killing Americans? How many known, suspected terrorists are not crossing that border because the Border Patrol is 100 percent vigilant, on that line, stopping all the entries. It’s incredible. Never seen anything like it in my 40-year career.
This is beyond amazing. What an accomplishment. And Homan is spot-on correct: Our country is being made much safer and more prosperous by the day because of his efforts, those of the men and women of immigration enforcement, and of course, Trump’s leadership.
For a quick review, remember these scenes, time and time again, under the brainless Joe Biden and equally brainless Kamala ‘Border Czar’ Harris?
There’s no question that significant work remains. While as many as two million illegal aliens have reportedly self-deported, millions more are still in the country unlawfully. And it’s worth noting that those who chose to leave on their own were never the primary concern. They accepted a stipend and a plane ticket and returned home. If they later seek to reenter through the legal immigration system, that’s a process the United States can — and often should — welcome.
The real problem lies with the dangerous elements: those who came to traffic drugs, seize control of apartment buildings, or prey on American citizens. These individuals are not going to leave voluntarily. They will have to be tracked down and removed, and the more violent and organized they are, the more difficult that task becomes.
Complicating matters further are so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions that actively interfere with federal enforcement and help criminals evade arrest. That strategy has already produced disastrous consequences, as our own Nick Arama recently reported, offering a clear example of what can go wrong when ideology is placed ahead of public safety.
This effort will continue — and it must. A nation without borders is not a nation at all, and immigration laws that aren’t enforced amount to no security whatsoever.
The good news is that there is still time to undo the damage. With roughly three more years to work, the task now is to fully dismantle and reverse the open-border chaos left behind by Joe Biden and restore the rule of law at the southern border.
