Actor, Director Rob Reiner, Wife Found Dead: Suspect Has Been Arrested

Legendary Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead in their Brentwood home in Los Angeles on Sunday. Authorities report that both suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Rob Reiner, who portrayed the character Meathead on the groundbreaking sitcom “All in the Family” in the 1970s, starred alongside Carroll O’Connor and Jean Stapleton. He later transitioned to directing and created several massive box office hits, beginning with the hilarious 1984 mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap.” His other iconic films include “Stand by Me,” “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally…,” “Misery,” and, of course, “A Few Good Men.”

And now, Nick Reiner, 32, Rob’s son, has been arrested and charged with the gruesome murders (injuries consistent with the slitting of throats). He’s being held on a $4 million bond.

Rumors had been circulating that the troubled son was being considered a possible suspect after the Hollywood couple was found dead on Sunday afternoon. Authorities quickly labeled their deaths a double homicide.

Page Six was the first to report on the shocking arrest, revealing that a source at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office indicated that Nick Reiner is currently being held at Parker Center Jail in Downtown Los Angeles.

Rob and Michele Reiner, aged 78 and 68 respectively, were discovered dead on Sunday after their bodies were found with injuries consistent with stab wounds. It was later reported that they had their throats slit in the midst of a heated argument:

Nick was swiftly identified as a person of interest by Rob Reiner’s daughter, Romy, who reportedly found her parents’ bodies in a horrifying scene.

Romy, according to TMZ, told investigators that a family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”

Nick has prominently and publicly discussed his issues with drug use and homelessness. Rob and Nick worked together on a semi-autobiographical film about the son’s drug problems, called “Dear Charlie.”

“I come from a nice family,” Nick told the Los Angeles Times while promoting the project. “I’m not supposed to be out there on the streets and in homeless shelters doing all these things.”
