After years on the run, Brian Cole Jr. has finally been captured by the FBI for his role in the January 6 pipe bombing case. Cole admitted to planting makeshift incendiary devices outside both the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters — a case that inexplicably dragged on for years and fueled a mountain of conspiracy theories.
What’s even more infuriating is that the FBI didn’t uncover some new trove of evidence or locate a surprise witness. Everything they used to identify and arrest Cole had already been in their possession for years. The case didn’t break because of fresh leads — it broke because there’s now a law-and-order administration that made it a priority. And that raises the obvious question: why wasn’t this done sooner?
Beyond that, though, and right on cue, the liberal media executed its next pivot the moment Cole was arrested: he’s a MAGA supporter. It’s not entirely fabricated — the claim appears in his confession — but it’s far from the tidy narrative they’re pretending it is. In reality, it’s almost too perfect for their purposes.
Cole is reportedly on the spectrum, and the so-called “evidence” of any coherent political ideology is flimsy at best. And now his own family is publicly contradicting the media storyline, saying he isn’t a Trump supporter at all:
According to an FBI affidavit, investigators identified Cole as a suspect through analysis of credit card charges related to the purchase of pipe bomb components, cellphone towers and a license plate reader.
Cole’s grandmother Loretta told the Daily Mail that she had no idea her grandson may have been gathering parts to build the bombs from local businesses, stored them in the home, and then allegedly tried to carry out a terrorist attack.
“He’s borderline autistic,” she claimed. “He’s slow. He may be 30, but he’s got the mind of a 16-year-old. That’s why we’re thinking – What the hell? What’s going on?”
The grandmother said her grandson works a data entry job for his family’s bail bonds business and does not like either political party, so she does not believe the charges against Cole.
She also denied allegations that her grandson is a “political anarchist” and said he is not part of any gangs.
“All I can tell you is that I love my grandson,” she said. “He’s not a bad kid and he’s not affiliated with any gangs.”
Cole also isn’t the MAGA-hat-wearing white caricature the media was salivating for. He’s a Black man — and early reporting even suggested he had leftist connections. In other words, he doesn’t fit the profile the liberal media needs in order to weaponize this case against Trump.
So instead, they’ve latched onto the thinnest thread available and declared, without hesitation, that “he’s MAGA.” It’s narrative engineering 101: when the facts don’t serve the storyline, rewrite the storyline and hope no one notices.
