Turning Point USA hosted a major event at the University of Texas at El Paso on Thursday, featuring Border Czar Tom Homan as the keynote speaker.

The place was packed. Homan spoke candidly about immigration enforcement, emphasizing that he never wants to see anyone harmed — not federal agents, not even illegal migrants. But midway through, a heckler tried to hijack the moment. Homan shut him down instantly, and in classic Homan fashion, turned the interruption into a lesson rather than a distraction.
“Every night I go to bed, I pray for the safety and security of every Border Patrol and ICE agent,” Homan said. “And I pray for everybody that we’re looking for. I don’t want anybody hurt, I don’t want anyone to die, that includes officers and that includes aliens. And that’s a stone-cold fact. Call me what you want, I don’t care.”
At that point a heckler interrupted, calling him a “racist” and a “traitor.” Homan made him regret it. “Call me what you want, I don’t care,” Homan just dropped him. “Why don’t you grow a backbone, put a Kevlar vest and a gun on your hip, and go secure this border?”

Now that is a clapback. And Homan is exactly right. The heckler’s entire shtick was to smear a man who actually did the hard work of securing the border — work that is now paying off, unlike the chaos Americans endured under Joe Biden. The Trump team, with Homan at the helm on enforcement, delivered real results. That’s not rhetoric — that’s protecting the country and saving lives. They made the promise, and they kept it.
Meanwhile, the left has spent years demonizing ICE and the Border Patrol for simply enforcing the law. It’s not just dishonest — it’s dangerous. Their vilification campaign has fueled hostility and even violence against federal agents. And the left shows no indication they care who gets hurt in the process. Their priority isn’t public safety, national security, or the men and women on the front lines. It’s tearing down President Donald Trump, no matter the collateral damage.
