We’ve been following the horrific case of an illegal truck driver who somehow managed to obtain a commercial driver’s license in Gavin Newsom’s California — and then went on to kill a young newlywed couple in an Oregon crash this past November. Tragically, it’s not an isolated incident. Just one day before Thanksgiving, another “undocumented” driver in Escondido plowed into an 11-year-old boy and fled the scene.
Incredibly, the Department of Homeland Security says California authorities are refusing to turn over the driver, Hector Balderas-Aheelor — a criminal who has been deported four times and is now charged with felony hit-and-run in the death of 11-year-old Antonio Torres De Paz. Balderas-Aheelor entered a not-guilty plea on Wednesday.
What followed was an online back-and-forth between Gov. Gavin Newsom and DHS. Newsom blustered that nothing was stopping the agency from “doing its job.” DHS quickly set the record straight, releasing the actual detainer request — stamped “REJECTED” — making clear exactly who refused to cooperate.

Gavin Newsom says he’ll only cooperate with ICE if the criminal illegal alien is CONVICTED, meaning California will let him roam free even though he’s been arrested for FELONY hit-and-run.
Hector Balderas-Aheelor has been previously deported FOUR times and committed a felony when he illegally entered for a fifth time. This violent criminal must be deported ASAP.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin spoke to the Daily Caller Foundation and criticized the governor for manipulating language with his wordplay:
The sanctuary politicians of California and Governor Newsom once again REFUSED to protect the safety and security of American families,” McLaughlin told the DCNF. “It’s despicable that our ICE arrest detainer of a criminal illegal alien who killed an 11-year-old boy would be rejected. When will Governor Newsom and his fellow sanctuary politicians stop releasing criminals into our neighborhoods and putting American lives at risk?

The damage inflicted on this country by so-called sanctuary cities and sanctuary states is beyond calculation. Newsom can spin, posture, and deflect all he wants, but the simple, heartbreaking truth remains: an 11-year-old boy will never grow up, never see his teenage years, never have the future he deserved. And it was preventable.
The Left loves to brand ICE — and the deportation efforts under President Trump — as “cruel.” But the real cruelty is found in the reckless, ideology-driven policies of Joe Biden, Gavin Newsom, and their allies. Their refusal to enforce the law, their protection of repeat offenders, and their obsession with political signaling come with a human cost.
Gavin Newsom wants to be president. After four years of Biden’s officially sanctioned invasion of our country by the third world, he’s the last person who should be sitting in the Oval Office.
