Democrats are suddenly tossing around the word “affordability” like they just discovered it exists. Now they’re trying to pin rising prices on President Donald Trump.
But where were they when Joe Biden was in office and the cost of absolutely everything was exploding? They were either silent, pretending not to notice, or busy insisting that Americans’ lived reality — the grocery bills, the gas prices, the rent hikes — wasn’t actually happening. They spent years defending or denying the consequences of Biden’s failed policies, and now they want to pretend they’ve been champions of affordability all along, after years of supporting ‘Bidenflation’ policies.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) provided a prime illustration of this issue when she insincerely attempted to criticize Trump regarding energy costs:

It earned a quick “Readers added context” note from X because, obviously, the timeframe this brainiac referenced was the Biden presidency, when Democrats supported ‘Bidenflation’ energy policies like closing down power plants without bringing new ones online because…muh climate change
The Community Note also criticized her explanation, pointing out that it focused on “the typical overdue balances of Americans, which have surged since 2022” during Joe Biden’s presidency, instead of addressing the price of electricity.
Needless to say, several social media users ‘fixed’ the chart and the allegation for Klobuchar:

Where was all this righteous outrage when prices were exploding under Joe Biden? I must have missed the tweet condemning his leadership while groceries were skyrocketing and inflation blasted past 9 percent with Biden “in charge.”
It’s the same stunt Democrats pulled back in July, when their official X account tried to blame Trump for grocery prices — even though almost the entire chart they posted covered the Biden years. They hope people aren’t paying attention, but the receipts tell a very different story.
If Democrats couldn’t even read their own charts — and refused to be honest about what was happening under Biden — why should anyone trust a word they’re saying now? They should be apologizing for the years of disastrous economic policy under Biden. They should have held him accountable for repeatedly lying about inflation. And they should have been focused on actually helping American families instead of gaslighting them.
But instead of offering real solutions or putting forward any positive agenda, Democrats are doing what they always do: ignoring their own failures and attacking Trump nonstop. It’s beyond pathetic but par for the Democrat course.
