For many of us, scouting was a rite of passage. Once upon a time, girls earned badges for cooking, sewing, cycling, music—skills that fostered confidence and responsibility. Boys honed leadership through camping, service projects, and the pursuit of those hard-won merit badges. And, of course, Girl Scouts had their legendary cookie sales. The goal was simple and noble: to help shape children into grounded, capable young adults.
But, like nearly every traditional American institution, scouting hasn’t escaped the clutches of the modern woke movement. The emphasis on character, discipline, and real-world skills has been steadily replaced with ideological posturing—and the results are, frankly, horrible.
Now, the organization is in danger of losing one of its most important partners: The War Department.

For more than a century, the U.S. military has been one of the Boy Scouts of America’s strongest partners — but that longstanding relationship may now be coming to an end. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is reportedly preparing to sever all ties between the military and what is now called Scouting America. His rationale is straightforward: the organization has drifted away from its traditional, merit-based mission and is now more focused on dismantling what he describes as “boy-friendly spaces.”
Hegseth went on to say that “The organization once endorsed by President Theodore Roosevelt no longer supports the future of American boys.” And in a draft memo to Congress, condemned Scouting for becoming “genderless,” and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). He added that Scouting has gotten away from the mission to “cultivate masculine values.”
While still a personality at Fox News in 2024, he said:
The Boy Scouts has been cratering itself for quite some time. This is an institution the left didn’t control. They didn’t want to improve it. They wanted to destroy it or dilute it into something that stood for nothing.
So what does ending the relationship between Scouting and the military actually mean? For starters, the Pentagon would no longer provide medical support or logistical assistance for the National Jamboree — a massive gathering that can draw up to 20,000 scouts to a remote site in West Virginia every four years. And under Hegseth’s plan, scouts would also lose access to military bases as meeting locations, closing off a long-standing partnership that once reinforced discipline, service, and tradition.
For its part, a statement from Scouting America (I still hate that name) said in part:
Scouting is and has always been a nonpartisan organization. Over more than a century, we’ve worked constructively with every U.S. presidential administration — Democratic and Republican — focusing on our common goal of building future leaders grounded in integrity, responsibility, and community service.
Scouting may insist it’s “nonpartisan,” but both the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts dove headfirst into DEI ideology and woke social engineering. The Girl Scouts were early adopters, opening their ranks to transgender “girls” back in 2015. Then in 2018, the Boy Scouts followed suit — rebranding themselves as “Scouting America” and opening the door to girls as well. That shift marked the beginning of both organizations helping erase the distinct spaces that once protected and celebrated the development of boys and girls alike.
And really, the beginning of the end of both as All-American organizations.
At this point, it may take an act of God — or some undeniable, inconvenient biology — to remind the Left that boys and girls actually need their own spaces. Pete Hegseth is exactly right. Anyone paying attention has seen for years that the broader agenda is to chip away at masculinity itself. And what’s the easiest way to do that? Take a space designed to teach boys confidence, discipline, and responsibility, and simply dilute it by folding girls into it.
As a former Boy Scout, I can’t imagine those weekend camping trips being coed. Those outings were about boys becoming men — plain and simple. They created a space where we could talk openly about things that, newsflash to the Left, only boys deal with. We talked about how we were handling those changes, how we felt about them, and yes, since we all went to school together, we spent plenty of time talking about the cute girls we liked. That kind of bonding doesn’t happen when the girls are standing right there listening. And those trips weren’t just fun — they taught us real lessons about leadership, teamwork, and responsibility that shaped us for life.
Boy Scouts has become a mess. We don't even have them in our county anymore due to all the nonsense. They let the weirdos participate and then they took over just like everywhere else they demand acceptance.
