Trump’s Energy Dept. Just Blew Up Biden ‘Climate Change’ Bureaucracy

Secretary of Energy Chris Wright may be the most underrated powerhouse in the entire Trump 2.0 Cabinet. While headline-grabbers like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth dominate the national spotlight, Wright quietly goes about doing something far more important: fixing America’s energy policy with actual common sense.

He doesn’t chase cameras or Twitter trends — he focuses on results. And he’s been relentlessly advancing policies that put affordability, reliability, and national security at the center of America’s energy strategy. In an administration filled with bold reformers, Wright might just be the unsung hero keeping the lights on — literally and figuratively.

Wright has been on a mission to rip out the tangle of costly, ideological regulations the Biden administration left behind. As our own Ward Clark has thoroughly documented, Wright’s accomplishments are stacking up fast — from refilling the nation’s dangerously depleted oil reserves, to clawing back $13 billion in wasteful “climate innovation” slush funds, to unapologetically championing natural gas as the affordable, dependable energy source it has always been.

And he’s not stopping there. Wright is also dismantling the bureaucratic sprawl that grew like weeds inside the Department of Energy under Biden. A new DOE organizational chart released Thursday shows that a whole flock of “clean energy” offices — created as feel-good trophies after the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — have now been sent the way of the Edsel. Poof. Gone:

The agency released a new organizational chart Thursday that no longer includes the offices devoted to clean energy technologies, energy efficiency and energy assistance for states and communities. The office of manufacturing and supply chains has also been removed, as has the office devoted to expanding the nation’s electric grid infrastructure.

But there’s more: “The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy — the beating heart of the Biden administration’s climate efforts — will be folded into a new Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation, a current DOE employee told NOTUS.”

It’s also being reported that DOE staffers assigned to the nebulous world of “environmental justice” have been shown the door as part of the Trump administration’s much-needed reduction-in-force efforts. In other words, the taxpayer-funded ideological side projects are finally getting the axe.

Secretary Wright hasn’t publicly commented on the restructuring itself, but he did take to Twitter on Thursday to lay out his vision for the Department of Energy — a vision rooted in practicality, affordability, and national strength, not activist buzzwords:

The return to common sense is simple.

It starts with affordable energy, more job opportunities, and leading the world in secure and reliable energy.

November has been anything but quiet for Wright and the Department of Energy. Last week, Wright told CNBC that his agency is moving to rebuild the Strategic Petroleum Reserve — the same reserve the Biden administration recklessly drained to patch over his wild inflation.

And earlier this week, the Trump administration made another major move: announcing that nuclear power plants — including the once-maligned Three Mile Island facility — will receive the lion’s share of DOE loan funding going forward. In other words, the days of shoveling taxpayer dollars into unreliable “green” vanity projects are over.

Promises made. Promises Kept.

The promise of American nuclear power is rapidly becoming a reality thanks to President Trump’s commitment to unleash affordable, reliable and secure nuclear energy.https://t.co/hprJ5eVXRx

The focus is finally back on serious, high-output, zero-carbon energy that actually keeps the grid running, and Wright is President Trump’s point man, silently getting the job done.
