Democrat Busted For Texting Epstein During Hearing Gives Most Absurd Explanation

Democrat Del. Stacey Plaskett (VI-At Large) is still out there on her damage-control tour, desperately trying to spin the idea that firing off texts to convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein in the middle of a congressional hearing is somehow perfectly acceptable behavior. It’s the kind of excuse-making only a Democrat in Washington could attempt with a straight face.

It’s been something to watch. Stacey Plaskett — who, as The Washington Post exposed, was literally texting Jeffrey Epstein in real time and letting him steer her questioning of an anti-Trump witness — is now rolling out some truly creative defenses.

On Tuesday night, some of the “top minds” in the Democratic Party (which is basically like choosing your favorite STD) huddled together and landed on a brand-new excuse: the “constituency defense.”

Nothing Plaskett did was shady at all. No, no — she was just texting a perfectly ordinary, totally typical constituent. You know, the kind every member of Congress has on speed dial: a billionaire sex trafficker calling shots during a congressional hearing.

“I got a text from Jeffrey Epstein, who at the time was my constituent,” Plaskett yammered a on the House floor. “Who…was not public knowledge at that time, that he was under federal investigation, and who was sharing information with me.”

Is she kidding? Unfortunately, no…she isn’t.

First, it is quite uncommon for members of Congress to casually text with constituents during a hearing. Second, calling Epstein merely a “constituent” is akin to referring to Bill Cosby simply as a “Pudding Pop salesman” while ignoring his more significant and troubling history.

During a CNN appearance this morning, Plaskett indicated – strongly – that her head is primarily made of pudding, trying to convince the American people that this idea was credible.

“So Jeffrey Epstein was a constituent. He was a resident of the Virgin Islands, lived there, I guess, more than half of the year because he was registered there,” she told Wolf Blitzer, later adding, “But like many constituents, individuals get your phone number. They text you about issues. They speak with you.”

Stacey Plaskett — who orchestrated a tax dodge for Epstein’s Sex Slave Island & received a job in return — tells CNN he was just another constituent.

Epstein had property in the Virgin Islands, sure, but his primary residence was New York City so there’s that.

Question for readers: How easy is it for you to contact your congressional representatives directly? Do you think you could send them text messages? Probably not.

Jeffrey Epstein had a direct line to Stacey Plaskett. Imagine if any of the files released about Epstein contained information regarding text messages exchanged between him and a Republican politician or even the President. Would they be able to use the excuse of “he’s just a constituent”?

Plaskett has once again made a questionable choice, which isn’t surprising for her or most members of the Democratic Party. Doubling down on poor decisions seems to be a badge of honor for those opposing the current administration. But this next exchange is particularly…um…remarkable:

PLASKETT: "I believed that Jeffrey Epstein had information, and I was going to get information to get at the truth…"

CNN: "At the time, he was a known sex offender…"

Plaskett spun an almost laughable defense, claiming, “I believed that Jeffrey Epstein had information, and I was going to get information to get at the truth,” while insisting that — despite the checks he wrote her over the years — he was never a “friend.”

But the Washington Post blew that narrative to pieces. Epstein didn’t just materialize out of nowhere with unsolicited intel. Plaskett was the one who initiated the exchange, texting him at 7:55 a.m. on the morning of the hearing. That’s not a coincidence — that’s coordination.

And somehow, it gets even sleazier. Plaskett actually lectured the public to “move forward” and stop dwelling on the fact that she maintained a suspiciously warm relationship with a convicted sex offender — warm enough that he felt comfortable commenting on her “great outfit” and telling her how nice she looked.

“If individuals are not involved in illegal activity, extending his criminal enterprise or his financial enterprise, or all of those things, Plaskett said, “I think that you need to look at what people arguing moving forward (sic).”

And let’s not forget Epstein’s crimes: The dude was a convicted pedophile and he was re-arrested on similar allegations in 2019.

But hey…some people have ‘done some crimes,’ you know? Democrats are a joke, and a sick one at that.
