I’ve honestly lost track of how many bogus stories Democrats and their media allies have pumped out about President Donald Trump over the years. The list is endless. And now, as their Epstein smears collapse spectacularly — with new revelations landing squarely on Democrats instead — the left has moved on to yet another cheap fabrication.
This time, on Monday, they latched onto a photo of Trump returning from Palm Beach to the White House on Sunday. And what was the scandal? According to the left’s fevered imaginations, an American flag was “lying on the ground” behind him. That’s the narrative they tried to push — that Trump, a man who spent his own money erecting flagpoles and who treats the flag with more reverence than half of Washington, would casually leave Old Glory tossed in the dirt.

And, right on cue, here’s Newsweek for the pile-on:

They even claimed that they had “reached out to the White House” by email after hours — but instead of waiting for an actual answer, they went ahead and blasted out the claim anyway. Journalism, apparently, now consists of hitting “send” and then immediately publishing whatever narrative you were hoping for.
And of course, Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu (CA-36) tried to get in on the act. He attempted to spin the photo into some kind of poetic metaphor, hedging his bets by saying the flag was “near the ground.”

Lieu’s post earned him a well-deserved ratio, with commenters from all sides scolding him for pushing such an absurd narrative.
Not long after, the Trump Rapid Response team stepped in and shut the whole “fake news” story down — quickly and decisively — leaving the left’s latest smear in a pile of rubble:

FAKE NEWS (as usual). The beautiful American Flag that was installed by President Trump never touched the ground. It was lowered into a special container out of an abundance of caution during the Marine One landing due to high winds.
You can clearly see the staff in the photos handling the flag and the storage container — plain as day. But despite the visual evidence and the White House’s explanation (which even showed up on Grok), Newsweek still hasn’t updated its story as of Tuesday morning, 10 a.m. ET.
Ted Lieu did get one thing right: yes, the moment is symbolic. But not in the way he hoped. It’s symbolic of the left’s endless obsession with manufacturing any attack on Trump, no matter how flimsy or ridiculous. If they can’t find a scandal, they’ll invent one.
And there’s another layer of symbolism they conveniently ignore: while Democrats were busy spreading nonsense online, the real story was that the Trump White House was protecting the flag — even from something as mundane as high winds. That level of care and proactive effort is exactly what you see in Trump’s broader actions, whether it’s securing the border or addressing issues that actually matter to the country.
While the left chases imaginary scandals, Trump focuses on protecting what’s real.
