Suddenly the ‘Mainstream’ Media Thinks What We All Have For Years – Karine Jean-Pierre Is A Hack

Over the past few weeks, former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been popping up everywhere like an unwanted weed in the garden of the media circuit, desperately trying to sell her new book, Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.

Let’s be honest — this isn’t some bombshell “tell-all.” It’s more like a rehash of her old job at the podium: spinning failure into fiction. Jean-Pierre is still doing what she did best during the Biden years — deflecting, distracting, and dressing up disaster as “progress.”

It should shock no one that Karine Jean-Pierre isn’t any better in print than she was behind the podium. The same hollow talking points, the same evasive spin — just now bound between two covers. What has changed, though, is how the media is treating her. Suddenly, the same press corps that once fawned over her every word is discovering its spine, unleashing surprisingly sharp — even brutal — critiques of her “book tour” performance.

What we’re seeing is a bargain-bin version of the revisionism the media has been performing for Joe Biden. After years of shielding him (and her) from scrutiny, they’re now pretending to rediscover journalistic integrity. It’s laughable — but at least they’re finally admitting what everyone else already knew: KJP was in over her head from day one.

Her book, Independent, is exactly what we’d expect: a limp, self-serving attempt to rewrite history and cast herself as a disillusioned insider who bravely broke with the Democratic Party over its treatment of “poor, misunderstood” Joe Biden. She calls it “a look inside,” but really it’s a finger-pointing exercise that never quite lands. She vaguely gestures toward blame without naming names — standing on the proverbial balcony, waving at the forest, and insisting the threat came from “out there.”

Worse yet, her media tour has been a train wreck. Interview after interview, she looks unprepared, leaning heavily on buzzwords about “representation” and “identity” instead of substance. When faced with even mildly tough questions, she flails. The result? A press tour that’s done more to confirm her incompetence than to sell books.

When you can’t even manage to sound competent in a softball interview with Gayle King, you know you’ve got problems. Every one of Karine Jean-Pierre’s media appearances has been a slow-motion train wreck — a showcase of a woman who simply cannot handle a real interview unless it’s a pre-approved love fest. And now, even the liberal media that once carried her water is finally noticing.

But things truly went off the rails when KJP sat down for a “Q & A” with The New Yorker’s Isaac Chotiner — a man known for dismantling hollow talking points with surgical precision. The result? Total collapse:

  • You said that the Party was trying to undermine Biden. What do you think they were doing and why?

  • Well, I mean, I just laid it out. I just said that there was an obvious campaign. You just had to watch.

  • Sure, but why were they doing that?

  • Because they believed that he needed to step aside.

Chotiner, clearly exasperated, kept circling back to the questions Jean-Pierre refused to answer — and each time, things only got worse. What followed was a painful display of floundering and deflection. Karine’s go-to move whenever she was cornered? The trademark “Wait, wait…” — a stalling tactic she used constantly at the White House podium. And when that didn’t work, she fell back on the same tired identity playbook, reminding everyone that she’s a “Black woman” and an “LGBTQ individual,” as if that somehow explained her inability to give a straight answer.

The most revealing moment came when the topic turned to Kamala Harris. Jean-Pierre claimed it was “unfair” — even “racist” or “sexist” — for people to suggest Democrats should have held an open convention. But as Chotiner calmly pointed out, Jean-Pierre herself had written that she didn’t believe Harris could win. The contradiction hung in the air like a lead balloon. What followed was more of the same.

None of this comes as a shock to anyone who actually paid attention during the Biden years. Karine Jean-Pierre’s lack of competence was obvious from the moment she stepped behind that podium. The rambling answers, the nervous laughter, the constant flipping through the binder — it was all right there for anyone to see. But back then, if you dared point it out, the media guard dogs came after you with every label in the book.

Yet today, once removed from influence and safely away from any level of power, suddenly the press obtains objectivity. At Semafor, Max Tani noted about KJP that, “The individual stumbling through this interview was until very recently one of the highest-ranking government communications officials in the country.”

The New York Times said, “White House press secretaries are supposed to know how to talk to the press. But that has not been evident this week for Karine Jean-Pierre.”

Politico examined the past few weeks and states definitively that Karine’s book tour has been “non-stop cringe.”

Sarah Jones, from The Intelligencer, presented a bigger issue: “It’s easy to make fun of Karine Jean-Pierre and her new book. But I do think there’s something deeply sinister about her career and what it represents.”

Exactly — none of these new “revelations” about Karine Jean-Pierre are wrong. They’re just about three years late. Conservatives and honest reporters have been pointing out her incompetence since day one. We watched her struggle through basic questions, flip through her briefing book like it held the nuclear codes, and hide behind rehearsed talking points instead of actually engaging with the press.
