White House Laughs Off MSNBC Spin On Trump’s Reaction to ‘Schumer Shutdown’

It’s tough to decide which liberal media take on the Schumer Shutdown has been the worst — the competition is fierce.

But credit where it’s due: MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Jonathan Lemire may have just taken the crown. In true Atlantic fashion — fitting, since he also writes for them — Lemire fired off a tweet promoting one of his own articles, claiming that President Donald Trump was “MIA” and ignoring the government shutdown.

It’s the kind of smug, out-of-touch spin we’ve come to expect from the left-wing media — ignoring facts, inventing narratives, and pretending Trump isn’t trying to get the government back open…even though Congress passes spending bills and a president either signs them or doesn’t.

Oh, and there’s this, Jonathan: Who’s fault is it for the ‘Schumer Shutdown’?

Oops — I suppose I gave it away. The reality is pretty simple: it’s not Trump or the Republicans keeping the government closed. It’s the Democrats, plain and simple. Trump can’t magically conjure the 60 Senate votes needed to reopen the government — that’s on Democrats. The president doesn’t even get a vote. But you wouldn’t know that from Jonathan Lemire’s tweet. Like clockwork, the liberal media narrative blames Trump for everything, even when the facts say otherwise.

And as for the claim that Trump is “MIA”? Hardly. The White House Rapid Response team quickly set the record straight, firing back with a curt — and frankly well-deserved — response, calling Lemire a “dumb**s.” Sometimes the truth doesn’t need to be polite.

“While useless Dems keep govt closed, POTUS is wrapping a long-planned Asia trip where he has secured billions in new investment, ended a war, and inked multiple trade/critical minerals deals,” the rapid response team scolded.

In other words, Trump’s doing presidential things, while Congress – thanks to Schumer’s Senate Democrats – continues to shirk a basic function…passing budgets and keeping the government running.

And for the record, Trump is engaged. He’s been calling on Schumer and Democrats to stop the BS toying around with peoples’ lives and get to work:

Meanwhile, Democrats continue to vote against measures that would reopen the government through a clean continuing resolution. Their opposition effectively blocks pay for military service members, stops funding for SNAP benefits, and prevents paychecks for working federal employees. All of this, critics argue, is part of a broader effort to use the shutdown as political leverage to advance their agenda — holding everyday Americans hostage in the process.

Others also piled on Lemire for his bat-stuff crazy take on Trump and the shutdown.
